You can write more posts and related forums with a signature hyperlinked keyword to your website. Try to find dofollow forum that gives dofollow link for signature as it helps in google SERP ranking and also some PR increase. If it is nofollow, it will be helpful in other search engine like yahoo, etc.
Forum signatures are good for getting site indexed quickly (if a forum gives DO follow signatures), but they are useless for ranking. You should understand what is your aim and act accordingly. If you want traffic - post interesting and relevant forum post in a niche forum. If you want indexing - have a forum signature. If you want ranking - look for links at topical authoritative sites.
