As I know, MySpace is just a hugely popular social networking site. Why would everybody wants to own a myspace site in 5 years time? What long term value it can provide to its owner?
Dogs are quite popular on phpLD! http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...GLG:en&q="php+link+directory"+dog&btnG=Search But not nearly as popular as cats! http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...GLG:en&q="php+link+directory"+dog&btnG=Search I am a cat lover. Haha. Cats win!
Oh, let me apologize for joking around. I did not mean to hijack your thread. It's Saturday night, and I am not in a serious mood.
the sad thing is that my dog is earning more than me out of his directory!!!! lol, jk, i don't even have a dog....(and of course, no directory)
I have to agree my dogs directory does quite well, at least my dogs are earning their own bones & dry dog food........
pets have always been a competative market. and dog is, i belive, most popular pet. So no of dog directories and sites should be a very good idea. i am making a dog direcotry will open for links in some time. once i complete the testing of the site. http://dogloversite.info/ will come with other pet sites after i mature this site. cheers money_train.
Sometimes I think I'm about the only person on the forum that doesn't have a directory! I tend to try and avoid the bandwagaons that everyone jumps on, I don't have a myspace site, SMS site, picture hosting site, a Digg site or even a blog (in it's purest form) I've noticed that when a site becomes successful a million people try to copy the format and none of them succeed. Real success is found in creating a new concept, idea or applying an old one to a new niche. I just try to find niches that aren't already heavily populated and then work hard a creating a useful site with good content. I don't think you can go too far wrong when you use that as a strategy.
To give you an idea, a couple of years ago I sold my first directory for 5K (I think it was only a PR3). In that year I also sold mySQL directory databases for around $250 a piece. People see money and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. These days it can still earn a few bucks to have a directory but its nowhere near its hayday. The same trend happened for Article Sites. I used to sell databases for those for $350+...Then the market was flooded with copycats and it brought the price down to like $10 There are always trends emerging and if you want to make your living that way you just need to a.) Know how to spot them early and b.) Be ready to quickly bail when the bottom drops out and move to the next thing.
haha Really very true with some exceptions. I myself registered digitalpointdirectory with intention to start directory then after suggestion from friends i found it will do more band than good to me. So i am still with no directory. And my dog yes he has one directory in his small bedroom, he plays with it and sometime bite it also
you are right yfs1. You need to stay one step ahead of market Best example, Alex Tew who earned more than million dollar with pixel site and cats earned nothing.
