This is ridiculous I have tried multiple times to buy a particular domain name. The person has had it for 10 years and never had anything up on it before. It's not something most people would want either lol..

After countless offers he just keeps telling me it's not for sale.. i guess ill have to wait until he dies damm........

Any suggestions to get him to sell? lol

This is they rights as a seller and they can choose not to sell it before signing any contract. For me, I hate people who bidding on the product but never paid. This occur many times as I'm a seller in ebay.

I admired one domain since it was a nickname for one of my best friend, last few year I plan to buy that domain for her but it already owned by someone who plan to sell it at $5000. Gosh..Too bad that domain belong to someone who intentionally want to make money from selling that unique domain..

Yes my experience is the same, he is holding it for three years.

Well in your case you can try to send your offer through others, may be lucky in that case.

    Good luck :)

That does suck. Not a whole lot I wouldn't consider selling for $xx,xxx, especially right now.
Is it possible to register the remaining extensions of that domain (.org, .net, ..info, . .TV, etc), as well as any plurals, thereby making his a little less valuable ?

That has worked for me in the past. Seller wouldn't sell the ".com" so I registered everything else...he contacted me and offered to sell for less, I declined and he let it drop and I picked it up for $10.

Not a full proof plan, but for $60 or so, worth a shot.
Even better if you can drop a few well SEO'ed landing pages on the other extensions, thereby talking the top spots in the serps...when other possibly buyers see that, they may shy away from purchasing seeing that one person owns all the others and they are ranking well.

    HitBoy,
Consider it may be someone financially sound, where they have no reason for the money, thus no reason to sell the name.

Here is another possible scenario - he flat out does not like you for one reason or another. With that said, you may wish to try obtaining the name through a broker.

It's best to simply give up in those cases, and look for an alternative. I've gotten to this point many times.

    True!

If he keeps adding more years to his domain name, and he's not selling it after so many offers for a large price, then you should just think of a new name, :(

It sucks, but that's how domains are...

They say, grab your domain names before someone else gets it,lol.

Offer him something obnoxious (that you really wouldn't give him) just to see if he'd accept, then you know its money he is looking to gain from this domain some day.

yeah big agree with you. There are so many 3 letter/really powerful domain name that aren't getting put to good use.
