Google ads within posts

I had noticed that google ads are inside of posts, which is confusing to the readers thinking that the adds belongs to the post made by the user. I don't see it right. It's like a violation on the post privacy (or the user's privacy).

What's your opinion about this issue? Am I wrong?

what user's privacy? what post privacy? wtf are those? you joined this forum, you obey their rules and they can do whatever they want since they own the forum. Having adsense ads within your post isn't illegal wtf?

    I've noticed these too.
They seem to appear in the opening post of some threads.
I was thinking... what's to stop someone posting something like "click the ad below" and then shopping DP to Google? Some people are like that...

Privacy is about exposing/peeking into your personal data without your consent. Showing ads in an annoying way is just that: annoying. But it has nothing to do with privacy. If it annoys you too bad, simply develop ad blindness against it. If the tactic doesn't work, site owners will stop it. They do need the financial support though, so I wouldn't concously develop ad blindness against those which are not objectionable.

That's the point; to get people to click the ad. It's called blending.

I know what you mean and I don't have to much of a problem with it. I think it would be against Googles TOS though being that they are right in the middle of the post that some users may think it's a link to something the user posted and will click on it.

Duhh... Its shawn's idea and its his forum so he can do whatever he wants.. We make some money because of this forum so for us to continue this one, they NEED to put it on. WTH about privacy mate? Privacy is your OWN personal stuff that is being disturbed by the other.

Lets see this issue under a different light shall we?

    1) Dont you guys think that these ads add to the content of the threads at times? That some guest visitors and general readers could find it useful specially on shorter threads?

    2) If Digital Point is making some money off those ads, so be it! Why? Because many members here get to advertise their products, services, sites and agenda...all for free! I know some who literally make their living off this Web site...Therefore, in fairness to Shawn who works and has invested to keep this humongous site up and running, that extra revenue generated by those ads should not be a matter of concern! Think about it! This is a great site that required huge amount of work on part of the owner(...)

How will the forum earn if they would not post ads on website or in posts. Posts are the main attraction of this forum.

There's nothing wrong with an ad in a post. Beats having to pay $30 to make a B/S/T thread, like some websites. ;)

I don't mind having those ads on my posts...i dont feel anything wrong or privacy invasion, besides i guess it is available only at the BST forums and hence it is justified as well.
