Is there any chance of adding a green section to the forum?

Green Affiliate Networks, Eco Friendly Websites, Ethical Fair Trade and Green Business etc!

That is what I thought I may get! But not from you!
DP must produce masses of carbon! Do you offset your carbon or use carbon friendly serves etc!

This should be taken seriously - here in the UK seems to be the movement forward whilst the US doesn’t seem to get it - The Huh, what? Statement says it all!

    Green Directory
    www.ecofriendlysites.org

The Greener Way to Search the Web – backed by Yahoo
    www.carbonsquash.com

Earn money with greenest PPC affiliate program
    www.greenlabelppc.com

The UK's only ethical Affiliate Network.
    www.AffiliateEco.com (US release November 09)

There is many many more programs and website out there that our green or eco friendly!

As for being a hippie it just a fact we all need to do our bit in the webmasters world when it comes to our carbon emission we use!

Shawn drives a Hummer. I believe that "Huh, what?" is the standard response from Hummer drivers when asked a question relating to "the environment".

You can see here how it's being calculated: http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Carbon-Neutral - Would be a good cause to support. There are other carbon neutral providers that simply use a flat fee based on if you're hosted on a vps or dedi. The one wikihow uses seems to calculate it much better.

Nearly everything we do produces emissions! You and I are both producing it now just by using our computers!
    You sound completely ignorant!

You crack me up! But I can't really see that happening!

I know what I am saying is the right thing to do, just thought I would give you the heads up!

Seems some of you find global warming funny and have no intention of doing anything about it! (I bet you are all US based which intern shows what the US government is doing to change minds)

This is how some of you sound! Nothing to do with me, how can this be the case? What on earth would we do that for!

Erm for the future of the Earth and our children and of course not forgetting for the credentials of one of the biggest web-marketers forum in the world! DP

It’s such a shame some of you can’t see past your screens!

    Yep, let's see...

    Ferrybridge Power Station - http://www.greenpeace.org.uk/files/images/climate/bad energy/ferrybridge3.jpg
    Eggborough Power Station - http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/01/09/article-0-02DFDE86000005DC-442_468x286.jpg
    Drax Power Station - http://www.propertyinvesting.net/cg...tion-CO2-emmissions-coal-burning-power-uk.jpg

Not to mention the chemical plants such as:

    Cuerdley Chemical Plant - http://www.yourlocalweb.co.uk/images/pictures/24/27/cuerdley-cross-239690.jpg

Nice and Eco-friendly all of those  - and that's just a minority dotted over the country.

    --

Wake up man, the hole in the O-Zone layer isn't getting any smaller. Global warming has been an alleged problem for years, and always will be (Not sure about anyone else, but I quite fancy a spot of warm weather).

No amount of Wind-Farm powered Web Hosts and "eco friendly affiliate netorks" is going to stop it. In addition to that, with the likes of Google producing a kettle's worth of CO2 emissions per 2 searches (source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/7823387.stm) the whole "Save the planet" thing seems like a waste of time.

If this Green section were ever added, it would be spammed full of people abusing hippies and greenpeace.

Yep you caught me, I changed my location and put myself in the British social group just to get my point across.

Did you take the time to look through the whole of the poxy WHOIS lookup? You should have noticed my domain is protected by NameCheap's WHOIS Guard. Do you think I'd honestly leave my Home Address visible for you and your eco-mob to hunt me down?

    *Sigh*

Good God, how old are you - 6? Who would walk to their domain provider and ask for a domain name?

You have lots to learn about Domain registration, WHOIS and WHOIS protection. Anybody will tell you that when you buy WHOIS protection, your details are covered up by an address associated in one way or another with the domain registrar, such as the one that appeared in your little WHOIS lookup. That's kinda the idea of buying protection, to hide your address.

I'm leaving this topic now as you clearly don't have a clue what you're talking about. The only 'green action' likely to come out of this topic is a Mod clicking the Green Lock button.
