Skype? almost unbelievable....

 

yes most of them are surprising....but companies do buy them for such amount....and many of them are also non-functional now and some of them have filed for bankruptcy

@stroh, many of the companies listed are bought again by others, but the list only contains the largest of them

@pro.seods, hotmail was bought from Sabeer Bhatia, one of India's first web entrepreneur

 

Microsoft bought hotmail from indian-Muslim programmer for 400 millions as i recall.
He spent most of the money on charity and development.
He is a good man.

 

Maybe I was doing something else when this happened or maybe I was using direct downloads too long and forgot all about torrents but I'm shocked to see TPB getting sold!

Someone bought HotOrNot.com for $20,000,000 last year? What a horrible investment.

 

I did not know aQuantive was sold for that much.

 

Skype is advertising real hard nowadays.. Even before.. If you watch this year's Miss Universe, You'll see Skype advertising in it.

 

Skype will be spun off in an IPO early next year
