    TBH, listing your website in directories does not really improve site popularity. Who would search up a directory ? Youd have much better chance at stumble upon :)

    i think directory submission is not good. only submit url to search engines by yourself. and forum signature can help you to drive traffic

    Web directory submission helps your site build up backlinks and improve the serp,
    but you need to select the se friendly directories to submit to. :)

    Sometimes instead of submitting a website to hundreds of directories, trying to buy a few high quality links from the older directories running for years online could be a better idea.
