I'm not sure how good it is with PHP and ASP, but I use Dreamweaver for HTML and CSS and couldn't be happier with it.

The best tool is whichever one you're happy with. I use Dreamweaver, Crimson Editor and Notepad2

Vim ;) What operating system and how much money? I know several people who like Zend Studio. I prefer to not have assistance from a program, so I use Crimson Editor (Win), SubEthaEdit (OSX), etc.

After basing my entire site with templates I found out that Dreamweaver does not support adding new (Javascript) pop-up menus in a template. The existing pop-menus work (using absolute links), and I can even add or subtract from an existing pop-up menu. So why can't I add a new pop-up menu in the template?
I found this informations on httP://www.free-dreamweaver-templates.org.
Is there a workaround, without having to create all-new templates from standard pages?

Dreamweaver does the job for me with everything, but I'm not saying that others aren't just as good. I just don't use them.

hey! i use frontpage and i kinda like it. it gets the job done. the disadvantage is it adds hidden folders but it helps you automatically update links when you change the page name so. :D

How about if I told you that Dreamweaver does the same without creating extra folders and without re-formatting your code? :)

I like keeping my code nice and neat and Dreamweaver has improved a lot over the years.

    GridinSoft Notepad Lite

Great for hand coding but adds colors to the code as you go so you can often catch silly errors before saving the file.
