http://maxdetailing.com/index/welcome/ My website doesn't rank for crap on any keywords. I'm soooo confused as to anything about SEO. I've read a lot about meta tags, keyword research, off site SEO and everything like that. Yet I have no clue where to begin. I don't know what keywords are even useful! I run a mobile detailing business in baltimore and can't figure out any keywords which the google keyword tool likes. Can somebody help me out? I'm not going to higher a professional since their all hacks in the area and never follow through. It's too risky. I'm getting extremely frustrated. Can somebody take a look at the coding on the site and tell me what I need to do?
C'mon man, do your own research. Don't expect us to consult you with everything, there are tons of articles on SEO. Read them
I've been reading like crazy and trying various things out but I don't know if I'm doing it right since there's no way to know. Where would I begin?
Just create a website and talk about what you do in words that people will be interested in - don't stress out over SEO!
Here's one major problem: <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://maxdetailing.com/index/welcome/"> Get rid of that! If you have to redirect do an htaccess 301 rewrite instead.
I'm using wordpress. Where would I be able to edit my Title and meta tags? My Title is doubled I need to fix that.
1. install all-in-one seo worpress plugin 2. install google sitemap xml 3. register google webmaster account 4. submit your sitemap in google webmaster account - and now, all you gotta do is do more research on keyword, competition etc.
Figure out what keywords you want to rank for. Have some articles or blog posts written with those keywords in mind. Give each keyword it's own page and through up the blog posts/articles. Make the Title Tag for each page/keyword descriptive and only relate to the keyword for that page. Build backlinks to your homepage and each of your deep keyword pages. A 60% - 40% split works good with your homepage getting the higher percentage. Build your back links through directory submits, social bookmarking, and article marketing. Also look for auto detailing site to trade links with. Reciprocal links don't weigh heavily with Google anymore but they do like to see that sites within your niche will link with you. Start with that....
It all begins with proper competitive keyword research and analysis. (In other words, proper market research). Until you identify the market you are in, and what the people who seek the products and services you have to offer are looking for, you won't be able to cater to them. You'd not only miss out on the traffic that properly identified and optimized keywords can send you, but also the perfect domain name, page titles and headings on your Web site, and so much more (and that's all before getting into the revenues you're literally giving to your competition).
Very good indepth view of the revenue lost. Yet I don't know how to use google keywords tool to figure out which keywords are best. It's inconclusive in my head.
That won't do anything. @ OP - I'll get back to you with a list of resources to get you started on the right path after the Bears game (if I'm still awake).
Just write good content about your market. Discuss your services and talk about detailig. If its auto detailing use keywords like car, cleaning, detailing etc., but make it sound natural. Have lots of content, including different options, packages and services you use. All that other SEO stuff won't help if your content sucks
Though I wanted to help you but I would say that it takes a lot of things. To many discussion for SEO... so the best thing for you to do is Self reading...
If you are using Wordpress, you can do very much to optimize for your wordpress blog like install top seo plugin. On Page SEO All In One SEO Pack SEO Smart Link Google XML Sitemaps Sociable
<meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://maxdetailing.com/index/welcome/"> So is that a huge problem? Or can I live with it?
