    I don't think I would even consider Metallica metal. They are more like hard rock. I think the best metal band, in my opinion, would probably be Killswitch Engage or Dry Kill Logic.

    You can hardly rate any band as pure metal, as most of them have hundreds of different influences and blended sounds.

    Metallica was awesome until Cliff Burton died but they lost their main songwriter with his death. After Cliff, they were never the same.
