People want to buy from places they know and trust.

What can you do to instill trust.

    Think about this:

    A. A Doctor with a Degree from the University of Southern California starts a blog on skin problems
    B. You start a blog on skin problems.

Who wins the trust of the visitor?

Maybe if you are an amazingly talented writer and researcher you'll do fine.

Picking niches is has a lot to do with your own skill set and knowledge base.

I like to write about marketing because that is what I studied in College and I Have a lot of experience having run my own online business for almost 10 years now.

If I was a Yoga Instructor I'd create a Yoga blog, if I was super interested in Baseball Cards I would work on that. If I was...

The point is when you write about what you know, understand, and love then you are much better prepared to offer better solutions to your visitors.

All you need to do is learn the basics first. If you can't get a sale in the energy niche, what makes you think you can in any other niche? I don't mean this is a bad or negative way...It's like if you never learned how to ride a red bike, you aren't going to have much luck at riding a blue one, unless you learn how..

to be fair though, we are really talking about riding a motorbike on a busy motorway versus riding a bike on a footpath ...

competitive niches are likely to have already had most of their keywords exploited etc etc ... finding a less competitive niche would, in my opinion, give them a better chance to find unexploited keywords and start making money ...

    just my 2c :)

There's no difference between a competitive niche and a niche that's not so competitive, it will take the same amount of work to make a sale with either one although it will take longer to make a sale with a competitive niche you'll make more with another product without such high gravity with the same promotions, from my experience atleast.

You have to think out of the box. Inside the energy niche there is a micro niche, that is less competitive. Your job is to find it. If your keyword is just "energy" or "free energy" then you are going to go up against the giants. I'm sure there is a long tail keyword that you have yet to discover, that will get you some sales. Are you doing any keyword research? Do you know the basic of internet marketing?? Download market samurai (you get a 30 day free trail), look at the help videos and do your research!!!! Then create your blog, articles, etc!
