When Articles Get Republished From Article Directories to Elsewhere, Do I Get Credit?

I'm familiar with the process of other webmasters approaching article directories like Ezine and Articlesbase and taking our submitted articles and featuring them on their websites. But aren't our resource boxes supposed to be included for them to be able to republish that article elsewhere?

I noticed that an Articlesbase article I submitted about a month ago (could be others, didn't check) was republished on a number of different websites and blogs in similar niches across the net but the article stopped just short of my resource box, so I get no traffic or credit for that article. That's f**ked, isn't it?

I think Ezine makes them include that stuff unless I'm mistaken...isn't that PART of the incentive to submitting to article sites in the first place, or that we get rewarded for writing a good article by way of further traffic when the article gets republished?

If someone could cue me in here I'd appreciate it.

Yeah, publishers are required by TOS to include the resource box. If you find some site owner who's got your article minus the resource box, report it to Ezine Articles (or any other article directory where it was originally published).

this happened to me and the article publishers (ezine, articlesbase) would not be able to do anything about it....you have to directly contact the admin of the website who republished your article without your resource box...tell them you are going to sue them for copyright infringement.

You are supposed to get credit but sometimes, people just rip your content. But republished articles wont do much good anyways

I found two sites without even really trying that both had my same article without any credit beyond giving an Articlesbase ID# for my article but no link or anything to that, my site, anything.

So what's the consensus, ask the webmaster to include it? Threatening legal action seems a little harsh. Looks like they do this with tons of articles at one of the two sites I found.

I have had this happen to me alot. Its so frustrating putting time and efort into writing articles just to have people steal them without giving me any credit. I've also noticed that some of them leave out my resource box and give a link to me ezine profile instead!

i go check all my backlinks to my site so i can see what site published my article. 98% are good and keep the links in the article but some remove them....busted a few the other day. Once the get caught, they feel like crap and put the links back in.

This is good link juice for us so make sure they keep the links on there.

I don't think Google gives any importance to the duplicated content.
So not to worry about such republished articles.

You should get credit when another webmaster republishes your articles on their websites.

Unfortunately many people cross the rule and just publish the article without crediting you. Now you can't do much about that but just ask them to take it of their website.

There are several website that can sue them for copy write but I have never lost my time doing that and I have already published thousands of articles across the most popular article directories.

The traffic is pretty good sometimes, though, if it's a half decent site. I mean any extra traffic is good even.

True it's not really worth the time going after each one of these people who cons you because my time is much better spent elsewhere, but it's really frustrating.
