What was really surprising that a self-proclaimed SEO consultant commented on my blog saying what I was saying was totally wrong and that I should stop spreading myths. I guess he would be one of those link builders who would submit a new website to thousands of junky directories, only to see the website crash and burn. And then they would blame Google, luck or tell their client that “SEO just takes some time to show results!â€. You should always keep on getting some good quality links to your website so your website does not fall into bad neighborhoods.
Depends on the chosen keyword; some long-tail keywords can be taken with a simple directory submission.
Yes i agree with that...you can get more easier rank in google if you optimized eith long tail keyword
Blog commenting, although time consuming to find good posts, can get you some high quality links. Or, you can ask the "Web Promotion Company" that you linked to
There is only one way to move in SERP rankings: 1. Good, keyword rich content 2. Good, keyword rich meta title and description tags 3. CONSTANTLY add links with A. Social bookmarks B. Social networks C. Blog entries D. Blog comments E. Forum Posts F. Article Submissions G. Press releases H. High ranked directory submission
I really don't see how getting quality links has anything to do with your website falling into bad neighborhoods. The two things are not related. The only way YOUR site can begin being considered a bad neighborhood by Google is if YOU start doing things on your own site that violate Google's Webmaster Guidelines and get caught. Yes... You can also get penalized for simply linking out to bad neighborhoods because you are promoting other "bad neighborhood" sites... But neither of the above have anything to do with your inbound links. Google is not going to deem your site a "bad neighborhood" simply because you failed to continue to build quality links. There is very little that inbound links can do to bring your site's rankings down.
Yes, there are lots of myths going on, but we have to get out of it.... Have to do lots of experiments However, getting links from good authority sites give us referal traffic too.
