For the last 3 years I have been using a particular website for Press Release submissions for myself and my clients. They have been really great to me and I get out of this world results for a very minimal price. Recently they have updated their policies and guidelines and have now become very strict on what you can submit. A lot of my Press Releases that I write get denied; I make the neccessary changes noted by the editorial staff, and they get denied again. Very Frustrating! So my question is, what are the "Best" websites for Press Release submissions, both free and payed for? Also, will you or have you ever used a Press Release software, and are they at the very least effective? Thanks!
Depends what kind of Press Release. Is it for a product? I would only use a PR if its something unique or a product. If its like a typical blog site, its not going to do much in my opinion.
Paid PR sites in my experience have no advantage over free ones. The one I generally default to is PRLog.org, which is free. Traffic is great, but you have to format your PR well. An excellent tool for this, as well as mass PR submissions is PressBot by Incansoft. I've had great success with this. Also, PRLog gives you an RSS feed that you can distribute to the feed aggregators (RSSBot works like a charm for that). Check out Incansoft.com. The products work great and are super cheap. I use them for all my submission needs. I'm not an affiliate either, just a satisfied user.
Thanks for the info.... I'm definitely going to check out those 2 software's now that I have run into some issues. I have used PRLog as well, but didn't get the results I was looking for. Maybe the release wasn't formatted very well, don't know there. Now, the website that I was using was very effective and for every Press Release submission I did, it would cost me $20.00; that's really not that bad considering there are some out there that cost $89 and upwards per release. Thanks Again!
The trick with PR sites is really to avoid coming over as a great big ad. There are some free videos and articles on writing press releases that get accepted here: http://trafficmarketingadvice.com/how-to-write-a-press-release/
Have any of you ever tried either one of these 3 that I found online? They look really good and say everything that I want to hear, but will they work they way we want them too? prwizard.com pressblaster.net mediamagnetpro.com
I do submit Press Releases and have wrote a few for other people. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), most good press release sites are pretty picky about formatting and your content. I always try to write mine as an interview of myself (if its my website) about a topic. It typically will give a different feel in comparison to your standard article which is often what press releases get denied for.
Can you tell me what sites or software you use if any? They have become more and more picky nowadays because of this spam crap, I guess. Like I said earlier, I have been using this website for the last 3 years and have submitted Press Releases that would get approved immediately. Now, they're not. I know how to write a Press Release, but now I'm looking for different avenues to submit them and want to now know, has anyone been successful with Press Release software? Also, which ones they use?
Sorry man, I don't use any software at all. I just pretty much write mine from the perspective of a reporter interviewing me about a topic related to my website. For example, I did one the other day about "The Single Biggest Reason for a Break Up"... I think the title did get it knocked for being article-like. For the most part though, everyone accepted it. Basically I did a self-interview (how dorky is that?) of what the biggest problem is in relationships.
I see! No worries though...Let me interview myself as well. Also, most Press Releases have to be written in 3rd person, so they say. Can you tell me where you submit your Press Releases to? That would be really great... Just trying to find alternatives to the one I have been using. Thanks!
I manually submit our press releases. There is a list at: http://www.webmaster-elements.com/submit-press-releases.htm keep the release itself factual and not "hype" it will have a better chance of being reprinted.
The key to a successful press release is 1) Identifying it's purpose - For SEO or Traffic and 2) Writing in a 3rd person journalistic type of way. Report on news or a study related in your niche and then discreetly tie in your website that relates to the news/study.
I know how to write a Press Release, but the website that I was using has now done away with some of the niches I was writing on. So, I guess my questions is, what websites do you use and are they bringing in the results you're looking for?
In general the two paid press release site that seems quite effective are: PrWeb.com & PRNewswire.com
