Yes, you are right till some point, but that concerns only those selling links!

Most of use make sites to earn from affiliates and PPC, not for selling links or selling the sites themselves.
Also there are no many people who will be fooled to buy links only because of the PR even if niche is related. A newly made (lets say 6 months old) site with PR5-6, mainly from blog comments is nothing. I'd prefer get a related PR0 link from an established site with old domain...2-3-4-5 years...

As for the PR update - nothing changed across my 7 sites.

Yup, my firefox toolbar is showing PR N/A for every page I visit ... is this a sign that an update is in the works?

Also ... I notice sites can generally go from n/a to PR0 even without a major update (happens to my new sites continuously) ... but you often won't see an update from PR0 to say ... PR2 unless there is a major update.

Either way, I can't wait for this thing to just be over with as people seem to be losing traffic through this whole process.

 

There's a definite change in the serps, but no pr update here yet.

 

serps ALWAYS update...dpers tend to worry about page rank and crap that really doesn't matter at all

worry about backlinks
worry about making money
worry about a new design
worry about your traffic
DO NOT WORRY ABOUT PAGE RANK

The only reason u should worry about page rank was if u sold links for a living. And if that was the case, I don't know of any webmasters that can honestly say that "they make a living off of link sales alone.

Selling links is unpredictable. Page rank updates, big G punishes you and then u have to start all over.

Waste of time...money...and effort

I agree that it's not worth selling your PR because it's so easy to become penalized, but don't you think that if your homepage is high PR, that your internal pages would rank higher?

 

No change in my website and not all of my backlinks are showing. I guess because of the "google dance"

False alarm, I ran my PR updater on my directories and there was no change at all for all the sites. So no PR update.

If you have PR on your tool bar and check it often when you visit sites, then you will start to notice minor changes. When this happens, then they are updating the PR. Its done sector by sector. No need to stress, it will eventually happen.

I agree with some that PR is not the most important fact aspect of your business, but statement only hold true for certain web sites. Some need the PR and Alexa ranking to accelerate.

 

Is there a FF add-on recommended for Google page rank?

I have the Google Toolbar and just want to know if there is a better alternative.
