I just received the following email: "Hi, I'm interested in your domains listed for sale in your parking service. Please let me know your price, could you send a mail to me appended a list with your prices? Thanks." He did not specify which domain nor where he saw it, does this sounds right? where should i go from here?
Sounds legit, but this is not a serious buyer...if he were, he would have sent you a professional letter, not some half-assed email that took ten seconds to write.
First question I would be asking yourself is do you in fact having a parking service and if so, do you have any domains listed there. A quick google shows this has come up previously: http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/613298-help-needed-please.html If this did come from 163.com as mentioned in that thread, I don't think it's legit as a legit marketer wouldn't be using a free email provider like that.
Thanks to you all.. theapparatus: The email address and the email content was the copy paste from the link you gave me, so this was a scam or whatever it is..case closed! But why would someone do this I wonder?
Folks buy unused and expiring domains all the time. There's a very large market for it. Many of those domains already have traffic and inbound links and probably are already known by the search engines.
I think you'd better contact himself to get more details on his demand. You will soon be clear about that.
There's no demand in that email and responding to spam just confirms your email address and that you actually read them.
