You need to be very careful in order to not be listed as spam, you have to bring quality content to the forum/blog/sites

There are a ton of different things you can do...are you targeting long tails with your blog posts? I have found that to be a pretty solid tactic for increasing traffic.

 

Targeting long tails is bad thing, from my experience i could say that thing works but it is very weak if you want to get a lot of traffic, this thing works if you want several steady traffic flow from search engines you have to target popular keyword phrases :]

 

Give yourself a market value.

I find press releaes are a good way of getting instant traffic. Perhaps try a few more submissions with PR Log

 

You should use the trial versions of Article Post Robot and SENUKE. They are great tools.

Could you tell me a little more about buying or exchangeing articles in blogs. I like the idea of cross promotion with other sites. Do I just have to try and contact them one by one or is there some website that list blogs that are wanting and willing to do this??

Mail spamming....I think that it's not ok not even speak about mail spamming. Forget about it

 

to get more traffic i will suggest u to go ahead wid search engine optimization strategies like social bookmarking, directory submission, article submission etc.

 

I have heard anything about identifying niche keyphrases through keyword research and making sure your website is properly optimized to rank for those kw's, followed by an aggressive link building campaign. Natural, organic rankings is your only long term solution to traffic..everything else simply builds "soft traffic" that dips once your efforts let up. Don't get caught in that cycle.

 

Use the "all in one SEO" plugin for wordpress. It's free.

And make sure you are pinging your site. Expand the ping list in word press.

Tweet a link every time you make a post.

Switch up the social bookmarking. IE: open several accounts and use them to bookmark randomly.

Post to similar blogs and forums.

Why dont you write good articles and submit it on, high PR article submission sites like ezine articles and goarticle. Because it will provide much more traffic than before.

 

Social book marking is the right way to get more traffic. Whilst doing book marking, be aware of title. Because social book marking title should be your keyword to get traffic.
