I dropped my ipod earphones in saltwater! Yikes! The bass stopped working and it sucks... does anyone know how to fix my ipod? (I don't know the science to it but does anyone know why the subwoofer in the earphones don't work anymore? Is it because there are dried up salt bits in it?) Advice is appreciated! And one last thing, does anyone have good condition authentic ipod earphones for sale? (payment via paypal, shipping to Canada) please PM me Thanks!
Get new earphones or try the ipod on some other speaker system. I know of some people that restore electronics. But I doubt it's worth your time and money to have your ipod fixed if it's damaged. Unless of course you don't have your music on another HD somewhere. ahkip is right, ipod earphones blow.
I guess why ppl still use the orginal earphone is that the white cord show others that "i am using an ipod and i am cool" try the Sony MDR-EX51LP, very nice earphone and it comes in white color http://images.google.com/imgres?img...firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=G
I have those (in black). They're good but my cord is starting to fray. I also have these...but they're not as compact.
I have the Panasonic Surround Sounds, Theyre $20 at walmart and sound SO MUCH BETTER than any other ive heard and theyre so comfortable even know they look like they go in your ear really far. GET THEM!!
Haha actually the ipod HD is fine, i only dropped the earphones in the water. I thought the ipod earphones had AWESOME sound quality, I guess there are others out there! I willl look around (any earphones with good bass is for me!)
i have ex71's and they're nice. if you're still using the original white ones, you have not heard music.
I'm glad there are others out there! Yeah.. my white ones are dead 'cause the bass doesn't work on it!
buy a psp: has new white earphones for you, plays musik and videos and has even a gta version (with blood and explosions!). 4gb space for your stuff with a 120$ memory stick or so...
My ipod is fine.. I just need earphones I didn't choose to buy a PSP because I'm not really into games.. (just like most girls! ) Thanks for your suggestion though! Hmm... it would make a great present for someone I know though...
yeah buts its still great to meet new people: "he look, its the gta-girl from the party last night! can i get your number please?"
You might want to drop it in sweet water......(carbonated water) then it wont be too salty and the bass will start working......haha jking i use sony...they are really good!
I've gone through 2 pairs of ipod earphones. They usually break within 2 months or so... I'm not sure if they don't like me playing songs at 3/4 volume or they're just poorly built.
You should have rinsed them in fresh water immediately to get rid of the corrosive salt then left them for several days in a warm place to dry out naturally before putting any signal through them. If electronics get wet it is usually possible to save them from extinction by allowing them to dry out naturally. As long as no current is passed through the components it's usually possible to restore them to working order. If you turn them on the components short out and that's the end of them. My daughter's mp3 player went through a full cycle in the washing machine the other day, including the earphones. I took the battery out and left everything on a warm shelf to dry for around 4 days. No harm done.
I have been thinking of buying these off late, but i really don't think its worth spending so much on a headphone. I am using these right now, they are great, and even prices are slashed now. @CR, Rf works for you? I have heard a lot of people complaining about frequency clashes that causes disturbances.
I wish I knew this first! It fell in the water for a split second! I don't know if a lot went through... Do you think I should rinse it with fresh water and then dry it out again? (haha! I know nothing!). It's worth a shot since I'd probably replace it anyways!
Like you say, it's worth a shot if you are going to replace them anyway. Just make sure you give them plenty of time to dry out naturally. Notice I keep saying 'naturally' - blasting them with a hairdryer isn't a good idea Give them several days.
