Hi there - what would you say is a good alexia ranking for sites that have been live for 2 months?- I have 2 new sites , one is a travel based site - and seems to be very slow with incoming links and comments. The other site is on the finance niche and links seem to keep coming in like wildfire. I think this one has a huge potential as one of the phrases is already ranked as no1 in google , and i seem to get a lot of hits for people looking for info on the paypal prepaid credit card. The earnings are few and far between , although I wouldnt expect that in 2 months the site would earn big. Has anyone got any advice to share about alexia ranking? Tips are very much welcomed , I am guessing here !!!
I have only 2.75 million alexa rank on my site that has been up for about 1 and a half months. I would expect more for you, though.
I've had my site for about a year, I'm sitting on roughly 170k for Alexa. I would take Alexa with a grain of salt however, pay more attention to things such as grabbing #1 spots on google, that and your visitors via Google Analytics.
I use it to track growth, as long as my ranking is in fact climbing, I'm making progress against my competitors and other sites on the net. If my rank is lowering, I'm not putting forth enough effort, either that, or my competition is putting forth more than before and I need to step up my game.
Alexa ranking is misleading and can easily be manipulated. I don't really rely on the traffic information that it gives out. Google ranking is a much better parameter of site popularity.
Alexa is used to to keep track on how your site is doing. The lower the number the better your site is.
It's fun to see your site rate well in alexa, but you need to put your work into making it rank in search engines.
Don't use Alexa as you main motor to see how well you website is doing and growing. I will recommend you use it as a complement. Our site has an Alexa Rank of 229,072. We have with our website a little over a year and we have been doing SEO for 3 Months now. At the beginning Alexa was not even crawling our website. So we just registered 3 months ago, and it keeps growing on traffic. So be sure to add your site to Alexa. Good tools to track your site. 1. www.google.com/analytics/ 2. http://www.quantcast.com/ 3. Use your server stats. Talk with your Hosting provider to activate server stats. 4. Alexa 5. If you use Joomla take Joomlawatch.
Alexa ranking is heavily skewed towards websites which have a large webmaster/tech audience. This is because webmasters or web savvy audiences are much more likely to have the Alexa toolbar installed than websites whose visitors are unaware of Alexa. As such, many have indicated that Alexa is a vastly inaccurate method of measuring a website’s reach, traffic and potential. I don’t disagree. Alexa is a silly way to measure web traffic but unfortunately, in an imperfect world Alexa is still heavily used by webmasters and ad networks when measuring the value of advertising on your website.
I'd like to thank everyone that has offered their advice. Yes I agree - I should have stated that I am not solely relying on Alexa to rank my site - I am of course back linking , and using google analytics, to track progression. I already rank 1 on a few keywords. I also noticed that the more do follow submissions I subscribe to, the higher the visits become. I just need to step up the ad sense factor now !!!
mine was about 170,000 around in 4 months check it http://alisoft7.blogspot.com and going better and better
+1... I have to agree. Alexa ranking can easily be manipulated and I don't rely on it. Google PageRank, now that's another story.
per day 60 fast directory submission, and 20 social bookmarking you should also check one day ago your alexa rank is increase.
Truely Google pageRank is another story and to me not even a good story. My website has been running for a year four months. Now ranks around 71k on Alexa and is even listed 79 among top 100 websites in Nigeria. We've been working very hard on SEO for a while. But the sad thing is while hubspot shows 36 inbound links to my website, I'm not even scoring 1 with Google pageRank. Sometimes, I get to wonder if Google's having beef for my site?
Alexa is not Truly information throw of any site you can see different site and check alexa daily basis some site alexa good and PR is not well But and other thing some site PR is very well and Alexa is not Enable What is this?
