Odds to sell unfinished site?

    Hello everyone! ;)

I have one unfinished project in niche I'm not working anymore. This site has domain, professionally made design, categories are well planned out, there are some unique intro articles and royalty free pictures, but it lacks content!

I’m just wondering has anyone tried to sell website with design + domain + idea + plan but without content?

Show us the website, and I'll give you the average price. Or my guess of it anyway. :)

if the site has professional design, well planned out categories and a nice domain, why not buy starter content for it around 10 articles with images, should set you back $7 per article and then put it up for an auction there is a high chance it might sell for around $500 or more

I seriously doubt that it would sell for more than $300 without content, maybe with a good design, but show us the website just in case.

I am pretty sure that you could sell any website with a good niche a domain name, though.

if their is potential and you have great marketing abilities the chances are still slim to none

If you drive some moderate traffic to it, you can increase the site value significantly.

Of course, it's 100% true, but I don't have really time to deal with this project anymore, so I'm just wondering - is it possible to sell it unfinished? I think that somebody else could finish it and earn nice money, it's a WIN-WIN situation! :)

It all depends on traffic. If you don't have any traffic, the site is worthless. If you do have some decent traffic, the site is worth something even if it is unfinished.

It depends on what the site looks like and what kind of niche its in. If you think it really has potential, it might sell just for the design. But it will have to be a very nice looking site with lots of features and something unique about it. Generally though, sites aren't worth much at all unless they have targeted traffic going to them.

Based on my experience, the chances is low coz nobody will buy 'potential' site idea.
This is due to its always not work up as planned.
And why the seller want to sell the idea,if the idea can earn $100k/month in the future?

I agree people are not going to purchase "potential" if it requires a lot of content development you are unlikely to get much.

You would basically be selling a template and a domain name.

Ideas and plans are not really worth anything they are free and everyone has them.

Just spend $30 and have some content made put it on a cheap host and sell it and if the site is not worth spending $30 on well.. it is not worth anything.
