I dunno if this has been brought up before, but has anyone here ever been told to go out and get "real job"? I hear it all the time...very annoying, even though with advertising the sky is the limit and I'm my own boss.
I was asked a few times if I have a job when I was at the playground playing with my kids during business hours. When I answer 'no' (I really don't, this is my only source of $$) they get angry. Maybe I should go with 'I refuse to answer for privacy reasons' next time. A female neighbor cursed me once for being yet another Russian on welfare, sucking blood from American taxpayers. (works for useless gobermint agency, if her dept. was disbanded no one would notice)
Yes I certainly have been told that alot, and people do not think you can make money online really. But I just ignore them and do my thing. //Andreas
No matter how much I make, my mother still gives me that line every time I call her or visit. The thought in her mind is if you're not stuck behind a desk answering to someone else, you're not working. And if you like it, it's just a hobby. lol But you can't please everyone. Just do what you do whether they understand it or not. Jenn
I read about this one guy that worked from home and his family would always come in and distract him or tell him to take out the garbage or something along those lines. I guess for most people if you work at home, they don't consider that work.
Great advice. You don't understand how frustrating it is to hear someone say they didn't pursue something because their mum or dad or whoever didn't approve of it. That's just bullshit.
Conventional wisdom is the loser's crutch. Use it to fuel your desire needed to achieve your goals. Stick it negative attitudes.
people who say such things suck! it really hurts. why should anyone run for real jobs if they make about $1k monthly. its something you give love and enjoy be it any business.
Just look at it this way... putting up with hearing "get a real job" might hurt, but it's still better than spending your life as a drone working for someone else, helping them make their own little fortune while you scrape to get by. Besides... when the people putting down your work come to you for money later on, just be like "Sorry. I don't have any to spare. I don't 'work,' remember?" Jenn
It's so pathetic how others think of our work as "not a real job". They somehow think they are better than us....well obvously they are...I mean it's my dream to be some bosse's slave, earn peanuts, struggle with bills, eat and go to the toilet on when they say so, wake up early and do the same crap every day for 9 hrs.....nah I think I'll keep trying to make a living online
Yah a lot of my friends have said that to me but seeing as how I can work whenever I want online and I've figured that I'm making more than minimum wage which is all I could really make in a "real job" anyway since I haven't even graduated from high school yet... why not just stay at home and relax? Plus I really don't have any expenses axcept car insurance and gas, so I don't need too much money anyway
If you think about it, working online or offline is the same. It is work in both cases but working online brings more free time, less expenses etc... It would be ideal to find a job that is so lame that you can do your online job while working "real" job p.l.u.r.
