I think a lot of it has to do with your niche, with where you "hang out" online (the people you associate with, learn from and become friends with), and with how much you're willing to put into it.

I started online in '98 when the Net was relatively new and the commercial aspects of it were very new. People were still fussing back then about using the Internet for commercial purposes (yes, I'm showing my age). I worked with the "gurus" of the day -- ghostwriting ebooks, articles and website content, designing websites and promoting a few IM affiliate programs -- I made $1,000 or more a week. And could have made more but I've always believed in keeping my prices low. My goal isn't to get rich, jut comfortably well off. ;)

But hubby wasn't pleased with the hours I spent online so I quit for awhile and went back to "real" job. And HATED it! That lasted two years (making half as much money as I had online). But by the time I came back full-time, the Net craze had died down some and it was harder to make "easy" money online. And I've never found affiliate programs that work for me as well as those did back then.

Today, I make enough to warrant working from home and not for someone else, but not as much as then. It's taken time to get my business built back up (my fault as much as anything since I've only gotten serious about it the last few months -- and now it's growing like crazy!).

SO... the point is that a lot of it depends on YOU. How hard you work, how dedicated you are, how much you learn, who you learn from... find something you enjoy and promote it and market it. Listen and learn. The money may not come tomorrow. But it will come... almost guaranteed.

It took me about 3 months before I had my first $100/day. I started marketing clickbank products in the IM niche, which is stupid because I did not really know how to "make money online."

I tend to focus on niche products now, most of them coming from clickbank. Combining this with article marketing I am now seeing and average of around $30-40 a day.

My next step is to get an autoresponder and begin building lists in these niche markets. I feel combining this with a little hard work will get me to $100 a day consistently.

My best day with clickbank has been $173.62, but my long term goal is $300/Day, because that would be over $100,000 a year!

If you were a part of WA forum you would read many success stories. A friend of mine just hit $200/day and believe it or not he is 16 years old.
I am currently not there yet.
But he is doing strictly article marketing. So believe it people it can happen.

I am doing this IM marketing stuff (nearly full time) since the last 2 months. Though, I have not made much money till now, I have learnt a lot. I think Internet marketing works this way. You work hard (and smart) for first couple of months without much returns, and then later you get returns without much work. It is more like Work it Forward (like Pay it Forward). At least that it my take.

You can make that starting today, with the right landing page and using PPC.

$100 a day is a good metric - as once you get there, you can consider doing it full time

For me it took about 6 months after I first starting getting serious about making a full-time income online. I started with CPA and heavy doses of article marketing but for me it was taking too long to see the time I spent paying off. 3 months ago I got started with an article outsourcing method I had heard about at Warrior Forum by Chris Calloway, and now (knock on wood) I make a consistant $120-$160 a day. Now that I have 75% of it automated with outsourcing I'm looking towards CPA and affiliate marketing again. I'm just starting to see some payoff from that over the last week.

The main thing is finding things you can do and enjoy doing. If you aren't enjoying your daily workload it's almost impossible to stay motivated over the long run.

If you really want to do $100 a day you need to throw yourself in at the deep end and make it feel like you have to make $100 a day to feed yourself and keep a roof over your head. If you treat what you do as a hobby and not a business you'll never make an serious money cause it'll always be that "a hobby". Really get angry and aggressive about it and set dates and goals and punish yourself for not meeting them.

99% of DP aren't making more than a buck online. Any poll results from DP are bad.

It's funny to read the posts of this thread. People saying that they make $100+ a day after a few weeks of going online and throwing numbers like there is no tomorrow. Also, most of them have less than 50 posts on this forum altogether. All of them advertise methods how to make money online and ebooks. Let me throw some numbers back at you. More than 50% that claim to make over $100 a day never made more than $10 a day online. Stop being delusional and selling your snake oil. ;)

A few factors to consider for those that haven't had at least 1 $100+ day

    (a) Ok you've read everything about internet marketing but how much STUFF do you actually have out there online? Without Eyeballs You Can't Have Sales!!

    (b) Promote a product that has a decent pay-out. Two sales of a $50 commission product and you're there. It takes the same amount of work to promote a $50 as a $15 product.

    (c) Are you taking continuous action?

    (d) Are you using your brain in conjunction with the internet marketing techniques you've acquired (if any). Seriously just think about the needs of your market and you'll be much more successful

It certainly takes a little while to hit $100 a day, but once you're there, it just keeps getting better. This may sound cliche, but don't expect something for nothing. Whatever venture you decide on, whatever niche you pick... it's going to be work if you expect it to continue making money long term. I've been around the Internet since the days of the BBS - back when FidoNet was how most geeks communicated. If I knew then what I know now I'd be extremely wealthy. Just keep learning and working. You may strike out a few times, but eventually something will hit that works.

I started by creating a music web site as a hobby. It was hard to put together as I wanted it perfect and not cheap looking. I spent about 2 weeks designing it. After I saw rapid progress, I decided to put up AdSense for jokes. It ended up working great. I have a 1-2% CTR but its bringing anywhere from $5-20 bucks a day.

#1 Pick a niche that is easy and cheap to promote.
Why? Most likely you have no money for advertising or don't want to invest into something you don't know will work.

Good niches that to that are easy and cheap to promote:

Music - Why? People will click ads as they don't have a clue about internet marketing. Its easy to promote, make a splash image with the latest songs on YouTube. Embed those videos on forum posts saying "Check out this new song by Britney Spears" <- PERFECT. Now this right here does not look like a spam forum post! If you are the first to upload that song, you will get hits right away.

Photosite - Why? You can share photos with your watermark in the corner. If you take some quality photos, people will want more and visit your web site by looking at the watermark. You can even post your photos on forums without looking like spam. Just say "checkout this wallpaper". Again, its not a spam post its free publicity!

...there's more but i'll let you use your head.

#2 Arrange your ads properly and don't give up!
Results will take time to show up! You might see 0.20 cents per day for awhile but if you keep working hard it will pay off!

    #3 Be creative!
It will be much easier if you have no or little competition. You don't need to create something spectacular but use your brains! If you make a site based on making money online you are competing with a lot of people. Also think about how you can promo such a web site without PPC and spending a lot of money. The second you post your site on a forum (except here) your post WILL get deleted!
