I have read ppl talking about CJ here. "I earned xx with them last month" etc.. So, i visited the site. I still don't get it. How does CJ affect my plans as an affiliate? Does it provide affiliate programs? Or is it some 3rd party thing that helps you earn more $ with your current programs? I'm not an affiliate yet. (I plan, over time and hard work, on being an affiliate for several different markets) thanks for the info.
Just think of them like a middle-man. Companies that want to do affiliate programs hire CJ to handle it for them. So CJ signs up publishers, distributes ad links and tracks clicks, sales, leads etc. Companies keep a certain amount of money on deposit with CJ, which CJ uses to make payouts.
I was just about to ask the same question because I heard Shoemoney talk about them on Net Income..thanks! P.S. hey you have a 66 in your name
Good thread, I don't get CJ either. For example, I've clicked several affiliate links on websites that all say variations of "It's easy and free to be our affiliate! Just go to CJ..." and I always think "well what's the point? I'm already here now, why bring in a now-superfluous middleman??" I guess they pay CJ to, as someone said above, handle the technical side of things, clicks and frauds and things? That's it?
The reason most people use a middleman is because that person is always connected with the bigger companies... Most small time sites wouldn't have the chance of becoming an affiliate with big-time companies for ringtones and such...
yep: http://www.shoemoney.com/2006/08/21/yes-i-am-running-ebay-ads/ I think I might sign up with CJ today..
If you have a website about strawberry seeds and you want to make some money with affiliate sales, you could: 1) Spend hours searching for site and site about strawberry seeds and check each one to see if they have an affiliate program or 2) Go to CJ, do a search for strawberry seeds, and you'll have a list of merchants to work with. CJ just makes it easier. Also, almost all affiliate programs have a minimum before they send you a check. With CJ, all your affiliate sales are grouped together and sent on one check - means you meet the minumum payout faster. * Disclaimer - Probably won't find any merchants that sell strawberry seeds on CJ.
Ah, that's the first thing in this thread I've understood! That is helpful. Now if they do direct deposit, we're in business...
Looks like you are in business, because........drum roll please.....they DO have direct deposit!! Glad to be clear things up a little.
I signed up for CJ and just for anyone interested, they activate immediately and give you instant access to their archive (but I think you need to send in your SS ID + W9 Form - but they allow faxes I think...)
