Just out of curiosity, I get sales calls here at work from professional link building agencies in NYC. I listened to this guy's 2 minute speech, and he mentioned that they have done link building work for huge companies like Cisco. What exactly do they do? I just found it interesting. He kind of danced around the question when I asked and I never really got an answer. I would imagine they do article writing and point links back to a site, right? I just don't understand the volume of work they'd have to do for a Fortune 500 company to pay them.
First of all they charge the clients a lot of money. This way they have resource to buy links from established websites. As well they do all kinds of promotion: - article marketing - press release marketing - video marketing - web 2.0 creation + blogging - rss submission - directory submission - PAD submission (screensavers) - profile links - forums signature - blog comments This is just an example of some of the things you can do to get back links. That's what I do for my clients when they need to boost the SEO of their websites.
They do all of that, plus, they buy links and blogposts directly. Some of my best clients are actually people who offer link building and other SEO services.
well i work in a "profesional" search agency and we essentailly optimise you for google search - so say your business sells -bllet proof vest - we build links in organic places which would get your business to the top of google, so the first thing someone see when they put bullet proof vest -is your company -- thus driving in sales... potentials and more... we also offer brand protection services all kinds of things.. but essentially it is to drive traffic from natural search into your site... Dcx
They buy links. Pay to get on all popular directories such as yahoo. Pay other popular websites for link backs and who's how much.
The real (and legitimate) ones do this: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=12104573#post12104573
