You can use your sites content for submission around 25-30 %, this will help you to keep your directory submission content will spam free. you can create different descriptions by using targeted keywords this will help you out for getting ranking.

It is better not to use the same site content for submission content, Just rewrite and publish it to get more backlinks and more hits.

yet again i agree with kathy. though there may not be any true dupe content penalty, should a site you submit to have higher authority for a given topic, it may not matter that your content was crawled on your page first. the site you submit too could theoretically out rank you.

but why even risk the dupe content slap (in the off chance it DOES exist)?

First of all there is NO DUPLICATE CONTENT PENALTY I know this for a fact. The only time you'll ever get penalized for duplicate content is if you publish the same content more than once on your own domain.

It is more than ok to publish your sites content all over the net, as long as it doesn't look spammy. Just make shore you say at the bottom of the article something like this...

The original content can be found at www.yoursite.com

As long as you point a link to the original which is on your site you'll be fine.

i have to say i agree about the dupe content...and in fact the only time i have witnessed a ding was for dupe content on one of my OWN sites. that harkens back to the days of people mass posting pages full of keywords.

however, i HAVE seen diminishing returns on how much link juice you get from the same article on several sites. for example, one article sent to 100 article directories will move me (for argument sake) 20 positions upward. but if i submit a 'unique' article to 20 directories, another 'unique' to the next 20 and so on, i will see a vastly improved result from the articles.

I would suggest NOT using your existing articles. Write a new one from scratch on the same topic. The blog posts on my site are generally longer and more detailed than the corresponding article I write to submit to ezinearticles.com so that the reader has a reason to follow the link from the ezine article to my blog post... They get something extra for making the trip.

If you plan to submit to multiple articles submission sites, create a different article for each if possible.

Sure, for as long as you own the copyright for the content, I don't see any problem with that. However, writing original articles specifically for article submission is so much better. Nobody wants to deal with duplicate content issue.

There is most likely NOT anything wrong with publishing your site content as articles. If there were penalties, then that would mean competitors could just start publishing content all over the net and hurt rankings.....

    That would be too easy.
