Been hanging on to this for donkey's years. Sedo's new auto appraiser  suggests high £xxx - it's a generic .co.uk and I think that's a bit high - would appreciate your opinion. Tnx.

Yeah - sorry, that was a typo - Sedo did suggest high £x,xxx - so you're spot on.

However - it's been on Sedo for ages and only had 1 offer.

Don't let that discourage you, it's really hard to be seen on SEDO unless you have those sponsored listings. See if you can do better here on DP, or on other similar forums. Things on SEDO tend to get lost in the pile very easily.

Try dnforum - they have a lot of buyers with cash. DP tends to be full of time wasters who will just say nice domain etc.

As to the value of this name, I would say it could go for up to Low $x,xxx

LOL, right on, as much as I like DP, I wouldn't pick it for a domain selling place. Its not just because of the newbies but also most people on DP are webmasters (wannabe or not), they value content, so much so, sometimes they'd play down the importance of domain name alone.

Absolutely True... I just looked at a few appraisals and I was shocked to see that people on DP have no knowledge about the value of a domain. All they see is content. Ridiculous. I saw an appraisal where people were shooting down the OP who asked for the appraisal and it was a decent domain and I did some research and thought it was worth a lot more than what people were saying. It was a keyword short 3 words domain. So go figure

Well I've had this domain on sedo fo 2 months and paid for a featured listing and not one single offer so I guess it's actually worth nothing at all. :(

Fair point - though religion is quite a large one which probably explains the sedo valuation. I think I might do myself a favour if I remove the developed site as nobody seems to be able to get past the religious theme.

I am looking at this name from the point of view of a definitive reference source - as a destination guide perhaps. Travelling to the UK - want to know about accommodation? Go to hotels.thebible.co.uk. Fly fishing in a Scottish river your thing? Try angling.thebible.co.uk. Don't know what you want to do when you get here - just visit www.thebible.co.uk for everything you need.

Alternatively it could be built out as a business directory service - funding.thebible.co.uk, offices.thebible.co.uk, banking.thebible.co.uk etc etc.

I only ran one featured auction and then just left it alone so I don't think that was a contributing factor. Not being in a rush to sell certainly helps though.

Thanks - looks like Christmas may get in the way of this auction though. Not much activity :(
