Hello, If suppose you submit a post in a google group, and the post contains an active hyperlink, will that link be counted in backlinks to that particular site(link) ? If yes, what value is that backlink compared to a backlink from a normal site. Please guide.
in my opinion. it would act as normal back links. but i dont know if other search engines like yahoo ever crawled google groups page. but if bots can access that page it would act as a back link.
If we leave out yahoo and msn for the time being, does google count them as backlinks? Do any links from google groups show up in google backlinks for a site? Has anyone noticed it?
oww, so most people think it would count as normal back links just like i thought. well basically if its a web page and is crawled and have your site link. it would count as a back links.
If you're planning to spam Google Groups I dont think is a good idea. Never ever do it ok. Or you might get penalize by google if they catch you. Just my 2 cents.
LoL im not gonna spam the Google Groups. why would you think im gonna do that at the fact i never go to google groups since most of my countrys groups are unorganized and makes me too lazy to go there
Read my previous post very carefully before you say anything. You're barking on the wrong tree. My post is for idzone. That's why I quote his post.
I have never had a backlink show for posts in newsgroups, but occasionally a scraper site picks up the content and the backlink will count. Most do not hyperlink, however. Can anyone show a link:domain.tld query that shows a backlink from Google Groups? I can't remember ever seeing one...
aww yes, i saw it wrong. i thought you are referring to my post. my eyes getting a bit error nowadays sorry again for that misunderstanding
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=li...=&rls=GGLJ,GGLJ:2006-06,GGLJ:en&start=30&sa=N Last one on the page and further in you can see another 6.
They are groups to do with Google yes, but they are still Google Groups. Don't see how it makes any difference what the group is about apart from the fact these groups have lots of links pointing to them so the spiders crawl them often. Incidently you can start your own Google group if you want. I've seen sites do this before using them as a support forum.
I am not going to spam google groups or anything. Was curious, as I had joined 2-3 google groups. So I think the verdict from above discussion is - at least google does crawl the groups and will count the links as backlinks. But no one has any idea yet about the links being shown when link:___.com is done for any site. If someone has, plz post here. What do you say?
I have to wonder if links into a specific thread or post make a difference on getting a backlink out of same. Many groups are so buzy, and the structure of Google Groups is such that there is little chance you would be on the same page for long. Either of which could explain the rarity of such backlinks.
One of the only backlinks for my site showing on google is for a completely NON related google group - and I'm not even sure how it bloody well got there! Arrgh! I'm beginning to hate google.
If what you say is right, then we have the answer - google groups backlinks are counted. But what is the value, only google can tell
