Wordpress and Directory

You can use Wordpress for everything, not for making coffee though

 

I have seen directories using WordPress as its base and with the right plugins coded for it, this can be done.

 

can you name some of them?

 

I am really surprised that VCTech got banned...He must have done something very upsetting(...)

 

Classipress Theams has few entry only! we cannot able to edit the fields!

Nima, I am afraid I don't recall those directories at the moment but I remember one particularly nice one which was run in WordPress....a jobs directory, if I recall correctly. The posts were the listings and the comments were reviews for the listings. If I can find it, I will post it here.

nope ... is pretty simple to edit fields or create extra fields ...

 

Thisis a very nice plugin and works well and takes minimal work to get up and running. I have used it for several sites.

Well, there's really no benefit to it. If anything, it'll be unique since most directories are using some other type of directory software.

 

reason for me to used wp as any application :
1. Wordpresss is well known and trust able. (i don't said other don't).
2. Easy to understand.
3. Plenty of plugin.
4. No worry abt ON PAGE SEO.
5. SE love it.

Con :
Wordpress update too frequent.

 

Frequent update was a headache before, specially with 2.6 version, unless you used a plugin like Automatic Upgrade. But as now Wordpress by default has option for upgrading automatically, I don't mind the frequent updates

 

what is wordpress directory ?? Any application or any software ???
