Wow, that's a clever idea! I was buying a .info domain for every product I was interested in testing out. :p

Your idea makes a ton of sense and would save some cash in the long run....thanks!

I did the same thing. It's a really simple way to work different landing pages.

I emailed Pete a few days back but he never replied or it went into his spam folder so I'll ask you guys:

I've been doing Pete's Google Trends PDF and haven't made a dime yet. I believe I'm doing everything exactly as he says to do it, but nothing.

How long using his method (basically involving pinging with pingler and using onlywire to bookmark major social sites) does it usually take to appear in search engines? I've tried writing about 6 blogs now with blogger utilizing long tail keywords...The only time my blogs appear in google is when I search with quotation marks, then the blog appears from Jumptags.com, but when you click on the jumptags link, my blog isn't even there anyway.

Statcounter shows I'm recieving an average of 1 or 2 unique views a day.

Can someone who has had success with Pete's Google Trends PDF help me out here? What am I doing wrong. Should I just keep churning out blogs and eventually I'll starting making more than 0 dollars off of adsense?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

The articles should show up within hours - otherwise the trend cools off before you get good rankings.

Should show up within hours? With or without quotation marks?

You think the trend might be cooling off then? A few of the articles are about events or products that haven't occurred yet. An article I posted a few days ago suddenly got 6 unique views today. Is 6 a tiny number or should I be expecting more? Should I focus on quantity of articles, or should I try to correct something I'm doing wrong?

Is there something obvious that I'm doing wrong?

    I'm not sure - I don't use Pete's strategy, I have my own methods.

That being said, most trends last (get the bulk to the traffic) within 6 hours of the phrase appearing on Google Trends. You need to get indexed and highly ranked within this time or you will never get much traffic for that trend.

This traffic is actually quite low quality, so to make decent money you need a lot of visitors. Most times when I target a trend, I'm looking for 1000+ visitors over a day or two. That might sound like a lot, but only say 20% click through to the offer and only 20% of those visitors sign up (on a ZIP offer for example). That means 40 signups over all, which equals about $40.

The percentages aren't exact and vary widely depending on what exactly you are doing, but the often untargeted nature of this traffic means you need a lot of it (definitely 100+ visitors per day) to pursue it long term.

If you are going to use a trends strategy, it is best to be able to predict what the trends are going to be. If you wait for the trends to show up on google trends you will NEVER get your blogger post popular.

On the other hand, if you do some good link strategies, you can have your blog on the search engines a good day or 2 before the trend is going to hit.

I know that answer seems evasive but if you read between the lines there is a lot of money to be made :)

I guess getting indexed and ranked is my problem. My articles simply aren't showing up using Pete's methods. I have to be something wrong because he says in the PDF that the ultimate goal is to be making about $20 a day.

I wish Pete would try to help me out with this. I see so much potential but my search optimization techniques are obviously failing.

Yeah, except that doesn't usually work.

Trends are all about news - some things you can prepare for ahead of time (like sporting events) but the big money is made with quick stuff. Imagine how much the guys who ranked at the top of Google for "Michael Jackson Heart Failure" made during that one day...

PS - I wouldn't use Blogger. That's just my opinion. Blogger doesn't work nearly as well as it used to for this. Look at traditional article directories instead.

@Everyone I will firstly apologize to madlabs I am sure your email is there I just haven't had the time to reply. I try to reply to as many people as possible but I get so many emails through every day that if I replied to everyone at once i would not get any work done at all. I have had emails about the trends tutorial and people not getting it. Most of the problem has been the way they have been going about getting the blog listed. I am just shortly about to release an update to the trends tutorial that incorporates a lot of different revenue streams.

@dlm you are along the right lines with the article directories I know you have been doing this a while and I have tested a few methods that incorporate what I believe you have been doing. If you pm me I want to make sure that I don't step on your toes on this one as I know what it is like when something gets flooded.

    Thanks

    Pete

    Interesting idea.

What would you have has the www.Home-Green-Energy.info home page? For those curious web surfers that take away the directory (ie: /Solar) from the URL just to see what is on the home page. And also for those people that maybe wrote down the address to type in later, but only wrote down the domain and not the directory.

Thanks for the reply, Pete! I'm sure this thread and your PDF's have gotten your inbox flooded with questions, I almost assumed that's why you didn't reply. I'm highly looking forward to the updated PDF :D:D:D:D

Factchecker..I'm trying to read between the lines in your post. Does it have to do with product announcement/product anticipation/product release?

@madlibs As Pete said, if we gave away too many secrets it would be flooded. I would suggest getting creative and being able to spot trends before they happen.

A quick example.... If you are following the trends and see house S05 ep 01 the first week and house s05 ep 02 the next week.... What do you think is going to happen the following week?

I know that is kind of a stupid example because the tv market is flooded... But you know what I mean.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what football games are going to be hot.... Or to know that halloween is going to be dominating the trends.

I don't know why people always dismiss what I say. I have been on this forum for over 3 years making great money... Whenever I try to help, there are always many nay-sayers.. Then they give incredibly stupid advice with others agreeing.

Are you trying to mislead people.. or are you just plain ignorant...

Anyway.. I hope this helps.. or at least gets the creative juices flowing a little.

Uh oh, someone just played the "listen to me because I claim to make a lot of money" card.

Generally, the people who make the most are the people who talk the least.

You bring up some good points - generally, I'm not too concerned about them, but you should probably make the "home page" just a very simple landing pages with a few large images (and little text) that link to your product pages. That way, people can find the product pages easily and it doesn't look like a traditional website.
