Will you support Google buying Wikipedia?

What is your personal belief on this prospect?

 

google is already a big company, the king of the internet. would it like to become the internet itself? i personally don't support such option

 

Nope, I think they are big enough and should leave it alone. It seems everything belongs to Google now. We don't need to add to that list.

 

without google wikipedia is nothing. Look at the rankings .

 

I don't like the idea since Google is monopolizing the internet.


Google doesn't need any support from just to buy a website.

 

i think google needs to focus on itself - maybe making this purchase is the next step for them?

 

If Google has enough money, than I see nothing wrong in buying wikipedia.

Seems like google is taking over the entire internet world one site at a time. I don't like the idea of a giant like google getting bigger than they are. I like sites that offer competition. Although I don't like the other search engines I am glad they are there to give the big G a little competition. I guess I like Wikipedia the way it is, but if they have the bucks and it's all legal what can I or anyone else do really. At least google don't usually mess something up when they take it over. So many other sites go to heck when another company buys it. Google seems to do a good job at keeping the popularity.

 

wikipedia is good the way it is. think its better left alone.

however I think wiki management should consider monetizing the website, I think they could make good income from it.

 

the owner has a strict policy of not monetizing the site eventhough it cost millions to maintain for its massive traffic. Good 4 them
Personally though I don't really care if they put some ads just to cover the server cost as they deserve it.
About Google buying Wiki, where are they going to put knol?

Actually I think it is not required..
if google wants to buy any company than google has many bigger other options..

 

Wikipedia is an open source type development, I doubt the founder would sell out to Google.

 

They are all in it together like a big cartel or mafia game. It doesnt matter if google buys wikipedia or not, certainly not worth spending brain cycles upon. Whether they buy it or not, the result is going to be the same always.

 

If google has good plans to get Wikipedia continue into better serving information, then it should be fine.

If google not there, then yahoo and bing show wiki links.... wikipedia have worth .
