Hi, Two weeks ago I launched a campaign which is geo-targetted to a particular city. The landing page is well designed and we have 10/10 Quality Score for many keywords. The problem is.. our first page bid estimates are between $9.75 and $21.00. Bid amounts which would make our campaign lose lots of money. (We are currently bidding $3.00). Does anyone else have this problem? What can we do to solve it? Thanks Hardeep
You must have hell of a keywords! And competition too! But if you can't afford it, don't do it. Go with your $3.00 and look how it goes. How big is your daily budget, how many clicks you try to get daily? As long you stay with your daily budget and you get some traffic, you are in the game and you can enhance your campaign to get more clicks with lower CPC.
The same thing has happened to me and I cant figure it out! I am currently paying 2.00 and others are paying about .50.... any other suggestions
The keywords are competitive, but we know that in general a $3.00 bid would get us on the first page, as it does with many of our other similar campaigns. $3.00 is getting us very few impressions right now, almost no traffic at all. If we could get some traffic, we could make the changes to our campaign to make it better, but as of right now we need some initial traffic.. Hopefully someone in a similar situation with both high QS and high minimum bids will come by this thread and let me know how they're solving it. Thanks
If your Quality Score is maxed out at 10/10 then I would have to just put it down to competition, it's as simple as that. The only other thought is to ask, are you Affiliate Marketing and direct linking to the Merchant? Your competition may also have a Quality Score of 10/10 but they may have a higher CPC... something you'll never know unless they have been daft enough to tell you. Regardless, if you can only justify/afford to be bidding 3.00 then only bid 3.00. The alternative is look for niches instead which will mean cheaper clicks.
This sounds like it's a highly competitive keyword so you may want to try a longer tailed keyword phrase to start getting traffic. This way you can figure out your conversion rates which will allow you to figure out if you can even compete for the higher priced keyword. If you already know what the conversion rates are then you may want to spend that money on some targeted ads on some related websites that will give you some quality traffic at a lower cost.
it doesn't matter with estimated bid ,if you have 10/10 it means you have a good relation between your pricing and keyword ..but if you can pay more than $3 then don't go beyond that and change you biddings on regular intervals in between 2.5 to $3 , surely you will get more clicks as per your expections.
1. go for the longtail (include your city) 2. stop bidding on broad keywords use phrase match 3. use conversion tracking and analytics, find out what phrases work 4. make sure your landing page is suitable, if it looks like a hand-made geocities page, chances are you won't convert no matter how much you spend on adwords Good Luck!
