Have you any stats about the traffic being redirected to your site from DMOZ?

Why start a thread on it? About 2000 or new sites get listed each month. The forum would be quickly overrun if everyone started a thread on it!

8 months? I thought the site said something like a few weeks or month or something I forget exactly. 8 months is a way long time. I submitted a site there not too long ago. I hope it don't take that long. Maybe they are backed up or something.

Getting listed in DMOZ is pretty much a long-drawn out process, like waiting for an HIV test :(, but if you got listed in 8 months...then Congrats! Break out the champagne. I know people who have waited years.

    what do you mean with
can be a misunderstanding but what I understand from your words it's you hunted a corrupt editor and he listed your site  some of peoples keep saying such thing is like impossible since they are considered to be honest and so on ... can you try to explain what you wanted to say with this words please ...

you must be joking , only traffic witch you will see will be most probably other webmasters who keep an '' eye '' on the competitors .... this directory barely have other visitors except '' niche hunters '' and other webmasters lol .

you must be joking 2K sites ? monthly ... ?
    do yourself the math ....

    1. 84178 editors => listing 2000 sites monthly (* a small and retard question what the heck do other editors if let's say 1 editor will add 1 site monthly ) ...
    2. conform with domaintools directory was created on january 1999 , this means 10 years and 9 months , 129 months of hes great and gorgeous growth ... multiply please this with 2000 . (* another small and retard question how the heck in this case here it's seems are listed '' 4,605,896 sites '' ) .

    3. finally but not last one , take a look about this two links and read them if you didn't read them till now will be a nice thing to do it . link 1 and link 2 . After you read them ... come back and tell us please where form and how's come the 2K sites added by our lovely editors can be a serious thing ?

That's the total number of editors that there have ever been. At any given moment, there are an order fewer than that.

They won't send you a mail. That would be admitting that webmasters are just persons.

If you want to know whether your site got listed, you have to go back and check the category once in a while. As trustnobodynever said before, that's all the traffic DMOZ can provide to you. Other webmasters.

For once I have to agree with jim"noble". The number of OPD mafia members is about 200 and then you have couple of thousand extras with no real effect in order to make DMOZ like a volunteer organization. :D

That's what I was talking about regarding the kind of people who gets accepted as new editor in DMOZ. Beside the obvious ones, those related with metaeditors beforehand, you have chances of being accepted if you are going to play in a deep unpopular category and promise you won't do it too well.

Congratulations, but these days I don't think DMOZ is really that important anymore. There are many other directories that can provide better benefit in terms of traffic and SEO.

that's a really nice to know so the status from the footer is false , if you are so kind can you tell us how much sites currently the directory have on hes index ? if the number of the editors it's a total of all time being suppose the footer status it's a total of sites all time listed here including of course the deleted ones ? quite amazing to be honest ... I always was thinking those number are supposed to be correct ones . Anyway thanks for '' light '' on this mater .

well none must take my words like '' real '' but anyone can check small things like ... for example alexa.com everyone knows we can inflate their status right ? ( * well at least someone who's interested about this subject ... I`m pretty sure will find right information's about how to do it .... ) anyway I`m pretty sure none from dmoz will ever been interested to inflate their status from alexa it's let say quite not probably that will happens , so take a look yourself on alexa , it's true it's not '' exact '' traffic status but at least it's a part of it right ? for example ... try this link and scroll down at the most used keywords ;) then locate yourself this line where's is write black on withe '' # mlm business '' yes you read correctly :) ... now go to odp so loved guidelines and ... check yourself if you didn't read what's the catch here with MLM type sites ... and then if you are still bored enough one more exercise , try to find some sites about MLM on the directory , will be amazed to see what you can find if you are looking carefully .

I think I said before few times , I don't know and I don't think I care about their practices ... if they do what was supposed to do , but they aren't and they keep lie and that's make me to think ... why this peoples consider me or everyone else enough dumb to '' eat '' the peanuts what they are sometime spare around ... thing is the directory like idea and with principles like was supposed to be it's good , and maybe '' right '' , BUT what's the directory this days it's just a huge mess , a shame for everyone who maybe like others said '' spend hours working volunteer '' . Think about for example of the post of Ivan Bajlo a month ago ... and compare a cultural site like he had here with this look at the description of the category and check the sites , check for example first link :
now if you are so kind check this
Now please note : this is just one example , JUST ONE from hundreds witch I found myself over the time on dmoz , it's second domain witch i`m saying public about it , first one domain was reported months ago on resource zone forums , this is second and most probably only after months will say about other ones .

THAT'S a reason to make so much noise about the decency of the editorial staff , that's a reason to ask questions and trying to speak with those guys ... and yes that was the reason for what I got the infractions and ban before on DP forums because I said what I said and the ''dog's '' of we know who acted like they master said . Thanks again guys for the infractions witch I got and witch will get after this post too ;)
