    anyone have any thoughts or experience w/ owning .info domains? I cannot imagine it matters really with search and adsense success or failure. Just looking for another perspective or confirmation.

    Info domains are in general used in the past for spamming because are low cost. Many spammers buy this type of domains just for promote things like: via3ra, po7rn, sezx etc.

    No difference in my experience at all. Actually, have had some great rankings using a (.info) tld.

    Success or failure usually lies in your SEO tactics. So make sure you get that right.

    .info's are ok, but I'd highly recommend going with a .com/.net/.org as those extensions just have much more trust and perceived value associated with them. info's are good for throw away tests, but if you want to build something for the long term use a .com/.net/.org.

    not ok with me. as i experienced all of my .info is not index in google. It's hard to promote .info website if your website is not really a quality website not like .com, net or org. here's the example http://www.diabeticdiets.info/

    Officially there is nothing wrong with using a .info TLD but as a webmaster, .info are generally seen as spammy and of low quality. Only the three main TLDs, i.e. .com, .org and .net will usually rank well in search engines.

    It depends - from a SEO perspective, it shouldn't matter.

    However ,com & .net > .info from marketing perspective.

    And adsense $ can be influenced by both SEO & marketing.

    .com extension is better and seo friendly. But u can use .info for AFD if u had the .info domain. this is how AFD look like ---> askadsense.info

    but i had heard that for afd, .com is also better than .info...

    2cents...

    If you have informational website then .info is suitable.

    Commercial = .com

    This spam associated with .info domains is just in the heads of some webmasters. Totally wrong if you ask me. Info domains are perfectly fine and value will only go up.

    Don't think a .info domain will hurt you at all really. The only thing I would be worried about at all is someone typing in yourdomain.com instead of yourdomain.info

    it depends on your promotion. Google adsense cares about content in adsense for content program. But other studies show that there are different earning between .com and .info...
