    Content is "KING" backlink is just the "Queen" I guess. :)

    If you have good contents then website owners, bloggers,
    leechers regular web surfers etc. will flock into your site
    they'll bookmark your site, ping it or even copy your contents

    It is still worthwhile to be sure. As good as it used to be? Probably not, but still worth doing to be sure.

    It can be, but these days people hang around more on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Not to mention the search engines.
