Anyone know what category would give ads for Flash game sites or MySpace related websites?

Try to use flash games and MySpace keywords in <title></title> and keywords meta tags and also use them in your contents and it should pull relevant ads... hopefully... YPN is notorious for not showing relevant ads...

By the way I realize that users in this forum specially the ones who claim to make 1000's per month won't help.... they won't even post a message when they know it's gonna really help someone make $$.... :) Correct me if I'm wrong...

i dont know, i've heard many self proclaimed high earners give advice. some good, some bad, but something nonethless. of course, i doubt anyone will help you when it comes to competing with them directly in their own targets.

i should just change my name to, jmo

    I'll give you some advise...

Don't try to change the targetting. With YPN, it is much better to have non-targetted ads. I put YPN on blazemp.com a while back (the site averages 26,000 uniques per day), and it was only making about $100/day. The targetted ads certainly get a higher CTR, but the price per click is so much lower that it comes out to being worse. That's the only reason YPN is better than AdSense...because you can get the higher click ads.

So, I should just not select a targeting category at all?

Correct. I wouldn't worry about it for now until they are targetted, if I were you.

It is better to leave as it is without any targeting. If you do any targeting and if there is less ads to show then you may see same ads in your ad unit.

YPN is great is you have a site that centeres around money phrases (lawyer, stock market, drugs, bizopp, financing, realestate, etc). You can easily make $1-4 a click with those and your CTR will be high even for YPN. But for topics like myspace the CTR tends to be very low as is the EPC. There isnt much you can do. stuffing tags wont really help cause there are so few myspace advertisers using the Overture content network and the ads wont be targeted.
