Hi I decided to create a forum website . I try to run it by drupal for it's seo and security . now i understand Drupal cms is good for starting a sample community ( forum ) website . What is your idea ? http://www.webtalkcenter.com/
If you have plan only to run a forum, I would suggest you to look for PhpBB, SMF or MyBB. If you can invest some money, get vbulletin. If you have plan to have a main website and forum in sub url, than you must go for drupal. Its is very powerful.
ya . But in seo , security , features Drupal is good than phpbb , and others . But run a nice forum with drupal is hard .
May be you find drupal more SEO friendly and secure... but if you want to have a site based completely on forum, just go for dedicated forum script.
no, stay with drupal. you have endless options to extend your site later on, and believe me, there will be a point where you want to do that when the site takes off. besides that he did not ask for other scripts. i think it looks nice. i would try to make the login on top of your site into one line.
I run Drupal for lots and lots of sites. If you're planning on during only a forum, I would not recommend using it. Only because it is non-standard. When people think of a forum, they think of the layout of DigitalPoint. Here is what a Drupal forum looks like and how to set it up: http://tips.webdesign10.com/how-to-make-a-drupal-forum Here is the standard bulletin board software (used on sites like DigitalPoint): http://www.vbulletin.com/ I tend to side with standards unless the standards are inadequate. Good luck!
there is not a single way how a forum must look like when you use views and content types to build it. you could as well argue that the way forums look like as the digitalpoint gets a bit anoying after so many years. i made a forum with drupal, just ti show it can be done in a different way: http://www.freeduino.de/forum
Drupal has more advantages if you are doing an entire site, rather than just a forum, for a just a forum I would not recommend Drupal as it is doesn't perform / scale very well for sites that can't make the most of caching, which of course won't matter much now, but if your site ever gets busy...
