Have you had any products simply not convert?
At what point would you give up on a product?
Are there any affiliate marketing guides that have been particularly helpful in this?

@Ashiro I have had a number of products not convert. If the hoplink hits 300 and no sale then I forget it and move on. This is only for bum marketing the free methods. I don't want you going out spending money on google and waiting for 300 clicks, Just to clarify the methods I use bum marketing are for free traffic. So if you get 300 free hops and have no sal that is when I would choose to walk away. However the final decision is up to you. Best way to know is to test a product. If it converts at 305 if you can get 1500 hops per day your laughing.

    Thanks

    Pete

A Hop, at its most basic, is just a website address, like www.yahoo.com or www.google.com. However, Hop are special, because they include customized information that directs people who click on the Hop to a ClickBank vendor’s website, where they’ll hopefully make a purchase. The HopLink also includes information about who was responsible for that visit— namely you, the affiliate. This ensures that if a customer clicks on a HopLink you’ve posted and ends up buying the product within 60 days, you get credit for the sale and receive a commission. Basically, HopLinks let ClickBank know who to reward for promoting a sale.

THe basic format of clickbank hop is:
but The new HopLinks are simply an encrypted version of the older format. This process makes it easy for our affiliates to receive an encrypted link that is in the proper format and will track accurately.

I guess this defination must be sufficient....

For further clarification, kindly post your doubts... there are people out here who are always ready to lend their helping hands !!

And also note that no question is stupid question unless you fail to ask....
so keep asking, and you shall be answered !!

    Thanks,

Wow. I've never read such a long answer which is totally incorrect. A "hop" and a "hop link" are completely different things.

A "hop" is just one visitor. Period. That simple.

    @Pete
Wondering if you've tried video marketing yet, could you post some experiences/results if any?.

To everyone who tests different products, do you guys buy .infos just to test those products to see if they convert or not or you use url shortening sites?

    Hi Pete,

Do you have any thoughts on my idea above? Do you think it would be a good idea and have you ever considered making a site for the products that you are promoting?

Buy .info's - easier to track, more reliable and super cheap.

i've always wondered about this. When a product doesn't convert can't you just change the landing page for a product in the same niche with similar features rather then scrap the domain?

    Definitely.

If you register something like Home-Green-Energy.info it would work for any of the products in that nice (you could make subfolders for each individual product). It is also nicer to link to a URL like that in your article than some URL shortening/cloaking website.

that's a good way of testing , to build content in different directories rather then throwing up loads of domains. But I guess you can't really gauge the true conversion rate (potential) if the visitor ends up getting distracted by all your different product filled pages and ends up not buying. I think it might be better to keep them focused on one product.

Best of luck to you and remember: " Anyone who has done a good work is better than his action and anyone who has committed bad deed is worse than the deed itself."

I believe starting a Clickbank Journal is really good work, and wish you a big success!

    Kind regards...

Regarding what to do to teat a product. The way I hav done it is to buy a general domain the likes of reviewsite.info and then fling up some sub domains on it to test the different products lik dogtraining.reviewsite. Info this is not a real site btw and you cab still track all the stats. That way you can test the copy and the product. If it starts working buy a real domAin for it and then just do a 301 redirect and then everything is sorted.

    Hope this helps

    Pete

You don't need to link the pages together - the visitors will never know you are promoting several different products from one domain.

    www.Home-Green-Energy.info/Solar
    www.Home-Green-Energy.info/Wind
    www.Home-Green-Energy.info/Earth4Energy
