Getting Joomla template to look like the one advertised

I found a beautiful template online and it was free to download.
So I did and installed it.

But the version I have is very plain compared to the one advertised.

Is this a DEMO or do I have to simply configure the template more?

    Thank you!!

Sometimes the final design has all the modules and plugins installed and running. Plus the default colors may not be set exactly like the template. It would be helpful to know what template you are referring to...

To make it look the same you have to find the "quick start" version of the templates. All commercial templates come with 2 version, the single template with no modules etc and the quick start version with all modules with the same looks as demo.
I am sure you got the template version only so that's why the template is basic one without any modules or modification like the demo. Download the quick start version and install it to make it looks the same as the demo.

I seem to have all of the files for the template, with numerous folders for administrator, images, includes, modules, etc. Then I have a separate folder with ccs/html/scr folders and php files.

After installing ALL of it, and placing modules in the module folder etc., the template still looks plain, and the under Edit mode of the template, it states that Cannot assign default template.

I figured it ALL out. I had to buy and install the modules. Which the template vendors would spec the exact modules and settings that appear in their demos.
