I would have said submiteaze but thier customer service is absolute rubbish and they never reply to emails I would never recommened them especailly if you switch pc's sometimes.

Iv'e sent 3 emails regarding a new license code and they have just ignored me and guess what their lincese isnt even transferable to another person.

so my advice is USE YOUR HANDS! you shouldnt submit to more than 10 directories a day anyway really. do it by hand and it will take you about 15-20 minutes each day.

addurl has the best directory list and you can start from the top.

    I use iBusiness Promoter.

The link submission area contains a semi-automated option which allows the user to add directories to a list. Once the directories are in your list you can add any site to those and the ones that are already there by default according to your target market.

The software pulls the details from your project and fills out the form on the 'add url' page so most of the time all you have to do is choose the category, type in the Captcha details, and click the Submit button.

It's not fully automated but as others have already said, it can't be due to the fact that choosing the correct category is important, among other things.

Here is my little knowledge through my experience in Directory Submission. I will list few things that no software can do. Nowadays the directories submission template is getting more complex.

    1. Any form that has Ajax is a big problem for software's
    2. Selecting the category is most important part and choosing them needs a human brain
    3. Various options for choosing categories
    a) Select category first and then tunnel in to appropriate category and submit
    b) Ajax category selection: You might have seen dir where you have to select category like windows folders (not drop down list)
    c) Many sites demand check-box clicking
    d) Nowadays submission is split over to 2 - 3 pages. First page for category, second page for details fill up and last page for CAPTCHA.
    e) Many sites accept Dir submission by E-Mail only
    f) The text box limits varies from sites to sites. Some accept Max 100 Chars while other accept 500 Chars

    4. many sites are using Pop Up and Re-Directs for spam protection
    5. Captcha's are there in 99% of good directories.
    6. Activation by mail is another difficult task
    7. Many Directories report this error : "Title is not unique in the parent Category", well auto submissions dont handle this.
    8. Submissions change, sometimes they make it free, sometimes reciprocal is made free and some times only featured listing is only available. If any directory makes such changes, then auto submissions just click the RADIO button based on its previous program setup.
    9. They neglect CAPTCHA errors pr "invalid code" error
    10. All the Software's use IE as default browser and many sites are best working in browsers like Firefox. Many images dont load in IE due to frame errors.

These are the things I face when I provide directory submission service. Hope, if any one reads this, no one will ever again think about "auto" :) So whatever be the case, nothing can beat manual submission.

I use submiteaze and it works great. Not sure what problem parmit had, but I've always found their customer support to be very good and get a reply the same day.

I think the people that say "submit yourself" are being a little naive and don't really understand how the internet works. All a web browser does is interpret HTML and display it. When you submit your website it's simply posting data back over HTTP. Basically all the directory submission software is doing is working as a web browser; it connects to a URL, processes the HTML it gets back from a website, and posts data back (the submission details) - the end result is EXACTLY the same whether you've used submission software or typed it manually. Submitting manually is not "better quality" as some here seem to believe.

Also, if you're paying people to submit your webiste then you're just paying them to use submission software. If you think they're sat there typing your details into every directory, and manually looking through the hundreds of different categories then you're kidding yourself. You might as well just buy the software and do it yourself. I personally hate it when people get rich from doing something I can do myself, so I bought submiteaze and have had fantastic results with it for submitting websites details and articles.

Of course, do what you feel is best, but I have personal experience in doing this, and it's not a problem to use software to speed the process up.
