Don't worry. Those to go store doesn't do it that way. They just don't have the time.

In the real chinese resturant, they cook the rice and put it in the fridge for atleast one day so the rice become hard and dry

Left overs are great, but 5 days :) I normally eat what I can on the evening I get it, anything left will get ate next day, if I dont finish it then its in the bin.

Sometimes when you have left a meal, pizza etc over night, I think it tastes better.

If your meal doesnt smell bad, and its been refridgerated it should be ok.

For certain 2-4 days is safe for most foods.
Yes, 5 days is pushing it but I had no ill effects. I had other food, but the Chinese tasted OK.

Maybe I somehow built up a tolerence.
Aging shrimp or fish may be gross, but most food lasts a while. Let's hope none of us ever has to eat out of a garbage can (I never did, but in America more and more people are homeless each week)

The only thing i found that actually looked edible and didn't tear up my stomach the next day was the fortune cookie.

I probably would if it both looked and smelled OK. But I would definitely reheat it at a temperature of 160 degrees or above to kill any bacteria that you can't detect.

honestly i would...... just as long as is doesn't smell (this is a sign of mold formation) just heat it in the microwave, i would say leftovers generally last about 3-5 days just for future refference!!! =D
