I completely disagree with you. I don't think that Press Release Submission and Classifieds Submission can drive you a good amount of traffic. Only the paid press release submissions can bring you the traffic. But, what if you don't have any content for press release submission? In this case, if you can convert the content to a Press release then it would be great.

I have done what you said about one month before and still on, but still get few traffic,

 

If you need instant traffic join social Networking site it will give you huge traffic quickly, like twitter, Facebook, Myspace, hub page etc,

 

I think mit is right, through the adwords you can drive quality as well as quantity within them.

 

Huge traffic will cost you: content, Social seo, PPC. I am guessing you need relevant traffic to your website.
If this is the case, you should read the ppc 101, build a landing page, quality optimize content and start a campaign on Google Adwords.

It depends on your niche, if this is a very high competitive category you will not be able to get huge traffic from doing:
Directory Submission
Social Bookmarking
Article Submission
Classified Submission
PR Submission

 

If you are doing all this & still not getting traffic means you need to

1. Use more effective strategies
2. when you use social networking sites, don't just sell your blog/website over there. You need to connect to people.
3. Tweet Tweet... but relevant stuff..
4. Are you presenting your content well to others? Are they interested in what you've got to say or your knowledge.
5. Are you tapping the right market place.
6. Are you doing something different from others sites.
7. Is your site content full of irrelevant ads?

any many such questions. Instead of jumping to PPC, My suggestion would be, think over the above points. For If the basics are not right, the traffic coming from PPC or any other method will not return to your website. '

And don't worry, nobody gets thousands of visitors over night. If its taking time, its OK. You are learning & you'll only get better. Have patience.
