Do any of the hosting providers pay commissions without your client having to sign up annually?

So Hostagator pays $100 if customer only buys the yearly option or as soon as the customer pays the $9 something for the first month?

would you all take this as a sign of bigger problems? I mean I am signed up with them because I can have unlimited web sites there, but I don't want to go any further with them if they are going to be shut down or something like that!

decent hosting service but what looks like fraudulent affiliate program.

user "hostgator" has received clients information(via pm) for missing sales. waiting to see reply. will post results here and on other popular forums.

@Stockman: Two in a row may be a coincidence. Moreover clearing cookies never do any good as their cookies overwrite the old one so there is no chance your previous competitor gets credit for your customers. Their cookies are so designed that most recent advertiser wins the deal.

@Hostgator: Its really nice to see that Hostgator representatives are here in this forum too. I am sure they are working hard to prevent negative marketing.

@alchamplin: They may be shut down? Wow! If they can shut down, I am sure 90% plus of the Internet may be shut down. They are one one the most selling Hosting in the world and one of the Big Internet Giants.

@sin: , @JustBusiness: They pay for monthly option also. In fact there is only monthly option available. the minimum lock period is 60 days. yes but the commission is $50 originally, building upto $125 as you increase sales.

@Stockman: Arent you cheating the hostgator system by instructing your clients to signup under you ( You have stated that you know them and you instructed them to clear cookies also.) It is against their terms

omg you must work for them or something.

So your telling me if a client is on my design site and clicks my banner after speaking with me it is against terms?? Give me a break. Its not against terms to recommend they use the host advertised on my site. I abide by the terms if not i want to see this section of the terms.

I doubt you will respond with these "terms" in writing.

    *****still no response from gator************

    I didnt meant exactly that.
Talking with your customers is not against terms, But forcing them to sign up is. Though there is no proof that you are encouraging them to sign up by offering incentives :p

you work for them or something.

I dont give incentives i dont break rules.

I expect this sort of thing from in house affiliate programs they always steal. I know, i have been doing this for 9 years. The theft is usually curtailed by using a third party affiliate program.

This is how it works: All your sales at first register, you always get paid. After a while the shave begins. The shave comes from the top of the company down. The reps never know what is really going on.

why is it that gator does not have a number for me to call and speak to someone in the affiliate department?

Just to be clear I am very happy with their hosting service, i do not promote them as an affilliate so i do not have any personal experiences there.

this is not happeneing on on dp.

    check this out
    from: http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=122973

A friend of mine was looking for some hosting services and i refered them to hostgator with my affiliate link as they seemed to offer some pretty good services at a good price. My friend pasted the correct CJ tracking link right into Internet explorer and landed on hostgator and signed up and paid for it right away.

The clicks tracked but the commission did not so i emailed hostgator to explain the situation.

There responce was that my friend had clicked a link on a template site and that the last cookie won the sale, I replied to them stating that this would not be possible as they pasted my link right into IE and signed up right away so i would have been the last cookie.

They flat out refused to pay the commission and said there is nothing they can do ( what a load of shyte)

Im glad i dont promote them in any other way becuase if i did they would be removed from any and all advertising.I will never refer them to anyone else for these underhanded tatics and this is just a heads up to all of you that might be promoting them or are thinking of doing so to BEWARE.

I know alot of hosting has high reversal rates but this was definately a sale that was not reversed and i have all the financial proof of this sale

(DODGIE MERCHANT!) avoid if you dont want to get burnt!

I have 2 friends that signed up through my Aff. link cause after
spending so much money on adwords and 0% hostgator sales
and 1.5 - 2% other aff. sales it seemed kinda fishy anyway 2
months later: still no Sale... which is fine, I now send 3-4
sign-ups to other CJ partners..commission is less but the money
    is showing up.
