Its an historical fact ,that during many great gold rushes, more money was made selling miners their tools and supplies, than was ever made from gold-anyone see a connection with internet?

Don't go chasing a rainbow now. People might share you how to dig and use the tools. But asking where his gold mine is located is a different story. :p

Yes I see this happening. Hosting makes way more money than you do running your sites for a profit. Hosting is instant, ads take a while to earn money off of.

Interesting comment op - never thought that way but there is a irony and connection there

I always likened it to the chasing my "holy grail" when looking for that idea that was going to me make stacks of money online

But then i came to realise its like winning the lottery with the amount of people who are also seeking the same thing - so you just find ways to earn a bit of money here and there. It may be boring but at least it helps and that you may secretly never give up on finding the real gold mind ;)

There is definitely a similarity between the gold rush and "internet rush". Anyone browsing the buy section can see that.

I witnessed gold fever in the Amazon rainforest a good few years back, and the miners were from all walks of society -surgeons down to street cleaners.I can recognize the same levels of hope in myself on the internet sometimes.
