Difficult to beat an established player like Paypal. It is also very easy to use.

I do a lot of business with people that do very little buying online.

I own a brick and mortar advertising business and bill my customers for our services and you would be surprised how many know google but do not know paypal so I use google checkout with them.

There's not a lot to choose amongst the 2 payment providers really. Paypal probably has the best programmatic payment notification for sellers but Google has the easiest basket integration into websites. Paypal was awkward when buyers had to create an account to buy using a credit card but nowadays it's just as trusted as Google I'd say.

Google Checkout isn't as widely accepted as PayPal, and I think you can't receive money with it.

Google checkout would be a great thing it we could transfert AdSense money directly to checkout account.

Personally i prefer paypal, but there is definitely room for another payment processor and after all its another way to other your customers to pay.

paypal are getting themselves a bad name with all the money are robbing when they disable peoples accounts

I had $50 in my account when they disabled it and they have told me I won't be getting that money back?

yea but it was just because I gave my details wrong by 1 digit

Personally, I prefer Google checkout - but I think its US Based. PayPal is actually okay - but if they even think your doing something crazy they lock your account. The problem with paypal is that your account can be great - but if your doing business with accounts that are not okay - that can get your account blocked.

The theory of paypal is that many people uses fake accounts to route funds to real accounts.
