O jesus I am really sad... I just found one really good .com domain, all others TLDs were registered, I just wanted to find one more to register 3 together but after 5 minutes domain wasn't available anymore. They stole me it. Very good name, history back in 1999... I will go crazy. That's not fair, damn spys.
True. Never check domains at godaddy anymore, but when I catch one, check on one small registrar then take it in second at GD.
Aren't you going to tell us which domain it was? I doubt that such a big company as GoDaddy has time to hijack the domains people search for using their domain tool.
Domain was: dreamplay.com . Was it worth much? What do you think? I liked it very much, but not anymore.
there are thosands of queries and the won't register all of the domains that are available, the have to check if a domain is actually worth grabbing (unless they hope to make money from backorders).
You can have a simple algorithm that uses various api's to determine a rough value, if the treshold is met and the person had it in his basket for a few minutes, you can easily have it registered automatically. It'd be dead simple.
you think you're so cool because you think your computer . I know it is possible and they can refine the results by comparing those domains to a dictionary file and so until the find really good domains and register them but I don't think they would want that kind of bad reviews.
I agree with TOPS, I'd be dead simple to do especially given the fact that GoDaddy already has the algorithms in place- they do automatic (read algorithmic) domain name appraisals for a few buck apiece. But on the other hand I doubt that it's happening. Someone else probably typed it in at the same time and registered it a minute before you.
Anytime a good domain name comes up you should buy right away, remember you can always cancel after if you decide that u do not wish to keep it.
About the cancellation thing, are you sure all the registrars do it (even it's legal to icann) and even if some do it, are you sure they don't have any kind of ban list or something I know registrars don't pay registry owner at once so they can do as much 'domain tasting' as they want but simple users of registrars, i don't think it's so easy. Apart all these you create a balance to the registrar too I don't have any experience deleting domains. Once i register them i sell them so i'm not experienced to deletion
Yeah GD stole a domain in the past from me as well. I dont trust them anymore. You know it is just so irritating that what you wanted and did the research for was taken by someone else. Tough luck man, but I am sure you will find a better domain soon IT
Thx Correctus. I think that there was human factor in my experience. I think I checked domain at least two times, then I did some research and after approx. 10 minutes when I want to register it, it wasn't available. Correctus, how they stole your domain? I think they are good company, but they spy a lot also, so speed is very important. I think also, that if you enter domain and register it immediately they can do nothing and domain is yours. What do you think?
1. I am cool. 2. It would make perfect business sense, albeit somewhat malicious and unethical maybe, to snipe quality domains away for business gain. But yes, I agree they are doing to blatantly and it will backfire on them sooner rather than later.
