Although general, it's a very good beginner's guide for new users of Adsense. :)

Good basic tips, but I would say only earning a few bucks for 1000 impressions is really low and you should find a better paying niche!

Dont want to embarrass you  but...

If you increase your CTR then you get more clicks generating a higher CPM.

Is basic AdSense knowledge in the article :D

    Thank you for sharing.
Sorry, but I think that the article is poor .. I almost disagree with the two main practical advises you gave: "Not putting adverts on the bottom of the page" and "Matching the colors of the site"

The two advises are good, but not absolutely true and do not work in many cases .. Sometimes you need to do just the opposite ..

For example, in a blog post, or in an article , the most clicked ads are those in the bottom just after the article .. People usually need to continue surfing after reading an article, and especially if they liked the advice, they might look for resources in that page ..
Here is an example Tips to Grow and Care For a Tomato Plant
This is an article page type in my new article directory (until now I use it for testing).
There are three ads placement, and the one in the bottom gets 95% of the clicks ..

Try that and thank me later: ads after the content.

About the colors, in almost all the books I read, classic colors are highly recommended .. links must be blue so ordinary people recognize easily a "Link" .. and white (or your background color in general) background is necessary to make the ads look like normal content.
