I was just noticing that my article traffic has plummeted the past 2 days. I performed a few keyword searches and see that indeed many are now gone. Anyone else experiencing this?
The way I see it article websites like articlebase and ezinearticles are the only ones surviving. I am not experiencing any downfall in traffic other than from goarticles. I would seriously suggest to everyone that you should try article marketing with ezine and AB only. Syndicated contents are being de valued by search engines day by day.
Mine all seem to be in the same positions getting the same traffic. All are Ezine Articles and Article Base.
If you ask me it is the effect of Caffeine update I have even lost traffic from hubs and lenses, seems like google is going behind content once again and weeding out one page wonders from SERPs, basically niche targeted sites getting better results in SERPs to improve visitor experience IMO
I've noticed the exact same thing to some of my websites too. Hopefully it'll get back to their original ranking soon.
My article site dropped to zero traffic from google about 4 days ago, Its some sort of penalty i think but i cant figure it out. The home page and author pages are fine, but all article pages have been totally removed from the serps. Still indexed but not showing in serps. Any ideas?
How far away is your domain expiration date? This makes a bigger difference than many think. This seems to prove the point of an older post here on DP (can't remember the #) about those two article sites mentioned above. Basically, if your into articles, you just about have to have a presence on one or both of these.
More than likely, Google is tweaking it's algorithms again. There's a possibility that advertisers have complained about the quality of clicks they've been getting. Content that has been published repeatedly doesn't do too much good to for advertisers. They probably realized that they were losing money and got upset about it. So now, Google is trying to fix some of these issues with duplicate content that they had previously let slide by penalizing article sites in hopes that they will enforce stricter rules about republishing content.
I don't think so .. we are going to experience the opposite in the next few years .. Autjority sites will have good positioning , not small niche sites ..
Sorry to hear of all this loss of traffic. Especially since article marketing is one of the TOP suggestions here at DP and in many forums. I dropped articles long ago and I have warned off all my members as well. They have not suffered any loss. Bompa
Go to the Google webmaster help forum and post your url with a url shortner. They will analyse what is happening and make suggestions.
Me, I don't get much traffic in article directories but ezine article directories are my top 10 referring sites.
