What traffic source do you find most effective with Clickbank products? Search engine, PPC, PPV, media buys, etc...?

I usually start with PPC because it's pretty cheap for testing and if I find something that's profitable I can easily scale it up.

I also like PPC because it allows me FULL control of my traffic... Unlike with articles where you get a whole variety of searchers, I can closely monitor what's going on with PPC.

Basically, if you have spare money I'd highly suggest you use it for PPC because it speeds up the whole process which is very important.

Imagine needing 1 week to test a niche with articles.

You can do the same in just a day or two with PPC. This means you can test up to 7 new products per week. And at least one of them will be profitable.

While with article marketing it'd take you several weeks to find it... And once you start thinking in a timeframe of years it only makes sense to use technologies that allow us to make quick decisions.

PPC takes ages until you get hang of it..

Articles are ok until they die out..

Sponsored banners are ok but they turn the lowest conversions..

Any method works it depends on each niche / product :)

It usually goes like this for new marketers:

First they do article marketing, get that down, then don't want to write articles anymore so they outsource it or drop it. Next they start with paid traffic and PPC. Usually they get frustrated as things are not as easy as advertised by the PPC Engine. Then if they're brave, they move to media buys. All 3 are good and all 3 work, but each requires a different mindset.

    :)

Why not trying all the above mentioned at the same time? Won't that give us marketers better results?

Because... time is money. What you are describing would basically amount to going all out on an offer before it has proven to convert.

What is a media buy? Would that be buying advertising space?

Ok, I get it. But lets say for instance that we have a proven profitable product, wouldn't it be more fruitful to work all strategies at the same time, despite of having to work almost 18 hours/day???

Use ppc to test an product sell or not is the quick method, if you can full control your ppc companion, it's the best traffic source for me.

Any (free?) good PPC threads or guides out there for 2009?

I checked the DP PPC forums but most useful stuff is outdated.

I tried adwords a bit, but had not much success.
I was unable to get a quality score higher than 6 and all my clicks were expensive. If I specify the actual product page as the landing page, then I cannot collect analytics data. If I just put up a blogspot landing page, the quality score will be really low.

    Any ideas?

This book is very, very good. (That's not an affiliate-link, of course). It's far better, more informative and more helpful than any information I've ever found online. Unfortunately it's not free, but it's really very good value and I recommend it strongly.

In my opinion article marketing is the best thing a beginner can d:confused:nce they earn enough money they can outsource their work or migrate to PPC.PPC is never the best thing in the beginning if you don't have a large budget to test different combinations of keywords.
