I have been averaging 3 to 4 dollars a day with EPN, and today

I found that I earned $90 today. I have not fully integrated EPN into my site, I just slapped it a few weeks ago to check it out.

However much glee I had quickly faded when I I checked the future "QPC Earnings". It was $12.24.

Really? If so, I may not even try using EPN....

What I'm trying to say is that next month when EPN changes their payout structure, under the new structure I would get $12 instead of $90 like I did today. Seems like a pretty big downfall...

the new EPN will reward high traffic lower priced sales sites whereas the current one rewards low traffic high priced sales. consistent traffic will be rewarded over inconsistent. sounds like you made a big sale (or two). you're better off making 10 small $2 sales than 1 large $200 sale under the new system.

but the whole thing is a secret mystery formula, so who really knows anyway?

I average around $5 a day from EPN, and I have found that the QPC estimates aren't too far off my current income levels. I wouldn't worry about it too much, despite how it seems. Perhaps that $90 sale will be factored into your QPC for days to come.

You are right. We will see how the next few days go. I made $2.77 yesterday, but my QPC was $25.56 . It will probably average out, we will see.

This appears to be true. I target a lot of high value items and my QPC estimates are about 1/3 of what I'm earning this month. I've had multiple days this month in triple figures while my QPC estimate was less than $20.

Davewashere, is your QPC higher than your current daily total days after? I'm waiting to see yesterdays totals and QPC to see if it will even out the $90 from Monday. I'll keep people posted.

Hi, I am new here. I tried to find out what EPN is by searching here and there, but I don't get it.
Would you mind telling me what EPN is and why this is in the CJ forum?

    Thanks

As of now I am just outputting rss feeds onto my site, which is why I am happy with a few dollars a day. I haven't worked on any niche pages yet, i'm too busy with other projects. i just wanted to see how it worked. $90 was a nice surprise.

EPN stands for Ebay partner Network, Ebay's affiliate program. CJ used to run it, which is why it is still in this forum. (I wish a new forum was created for EPN).

    That's little confusing.

ePN is eBay Partner Network, right?

So, what's QPC? Does it have anything to do with eBay? If so, why is this all in Commission Junction forum?

As I posted earlier, Commission Junction USED to run eBay's affiliate program, and I believe about 2 years ago eBay took it over and has now been running it inhouse. Since DP does not have an EPN forum (yet??), epn topics are still posted in this forum. I guess they could be posted in the root affiliate marketing forum, but mods do not move them, so...

The issue with everyone grumbling about epn is the NEW QCP (Quality Click Pricing) payout system they are rolling out October 1st. Currently, ebay pays you a percentage of the fees made on a bid from customers you send to ebay, and around $25 per person that becomes a new ebay member AND bids on an item (I don't believe they have to win the auction).

QCP will payout per click, and will be determined by a number of factors including the quality of clicks, etc. It's all equations we cannot see or know, so no one knows the details. EPN is showing this months and last months QCP score so current users can compare how the systems work. Here is an example.

    DATE Current Earnings QCP Earnings
    9/11/09 0.00 0.00
    9/12/09 4.38 2.96
    9/13/09 90.12 12.24
    9/14/09 2.77 25.56
    9/15/09 1.39 23.49
    Code (markup):
As you can see, I flipped out on 9/13 when I made $90.12, but if this was Oct I would have made $12.24 only. As you can see the days following, the QCP was way above my actual current earnings, so it's looking like it will balance out. I will have to give it a few more days. From what I have read, your QCP score is derived from the past few days so this trend should continue for me.

BTW, it is QCP not QPC (that was my error earlier). Also, if you join EPN now, you will fall under the QPC model immediately. Only current EPN members convert over in Oct. New members start immediately.

So my fears have curbed. My QCP earnings are now about one dollar higher than my actual earnings for the month, so it has equalled out. I KNOW I drive quality traffic to ebay, so I'm not worried anymore.

I'll report my findings at the end of the month, but as of now I have earned $30 more with my QPC over my current earnings.
