I first contacted Neverblue, in order to join their Publishing Program, but am not going to do that anymore (I'll explain why later on). My plan is to do the following: I have a niche site, with a simple zip form. Once the visitor enters their Zip Code, they will have a list of options. If they click on one of the options, I would like to pay the affiliate who referred that visitor $2.50 - $3.00. I will also pay whatever portion I need to the Advertisor/Affiliate Company for the leads they are driving. Here is the problem I faced with Neverblue: They said I would need a $5000 prepayment to ensure I would pay them when they drive leads to my landing page. I do not have $5000 to put down, so I asked if I could pay them as I earn. The landing page I am running allows me to earn money every time a visitor clicks (CPA). I asked if I could pay them from the money I earn, which would really be no different than the plan they proposed. Now, my question: Is there ANY company that I could join as a publisher that does not require such a large prepayment, or better yet, only charges you as they drive leads? Thanks in advance.
Two options: Recruit traffic-driving affiliates yourself by posting in forums with sigs Try other affiliate networks - pepperjam, copeac, dexaffiliate, hydra, etc.
The prepayment exists to protect affiliates so I'm all for Neverblue implementing this kind of quality control. You should be able to find a smaller scale network that is willing to take a chance on you, but the big guys will want that money upfront.
Just a correction to the sentence above and your title. Publishers are affiliates, you are the merchant or advertiser. Plus I agree with Finchsells and am all for anything that protects affiliates to ensure they get paid for their hard work. That said, I thought some networks didn't charge an up front fee, but I don't know off hand which ones.
I think you know most if the things. Becoming an advertiser is easy at several networks. But you need to make sure that the network has enough number of websites / blogs related / relevant to your product. Big networks are likely to have sufficient number of websites in most categories. You can also make a landing page yourself and run PPC campaigns yourself.
